I won't lie, I'm a mermaid lover at heart. "The Little Mermaid" was my favorite Disney movie. (To this day, it is a close second only to "Beauty and the Beast," which I love, despite how Disney kind of screwed the pooch with their message -- but that's a rant for another day.) When I was a little girl, I used to stare at pretty much any body of water deep enough to swim in and imagine what was beneath the water… even if the bottom was clearly visible from the surface. ^^;

I've been pretty stressed out the last few months, and as a means of relief decided to draw something just for the sake of drawing. Call it art therapy. I think I may do a few others in a similar vein -- maybe not mermaids, but fantasy and fairy tale-based. Major thanks to *Sirius-sdz for the beautiful texture -- the background wouldn't have turned out nearly as well without it. ><

Also, yes, I stuck a mature content thing on this one due to nudity. Despite the fact that, due to Godiva-hair, you can't see anything you wouldn't see on a Barbie doll, I decided to play it safe and put the filter on.
