Of course, the majority of Goths are unique in their style and music preferences. However, within the subculture there are certain "types" of Goth with particular characteristics. And it can be fun to classify them. Naturally, classifications for each "type" vary from person to person, so you may disagree with what I say here!
The term Glam Goth is confusing; it's used to mean different things by different people. Some people use it to mean Goths who like very high fashion (which I've classified as Haute Goth), others use it to mean Goths into New Romantic, and others tie it to the Glam Rock scene of the 70s. I've tried to combine both the New Romantic and Glam Rock scenes here.
