MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE: Cliffjumper and Hound

This used to be one of my favourite scenes from the three-part pilot episode. An illustration of the scene was featured in the 1986 Figurine Panini sticker album (not as a sticker, but as the background spread) and I based this rendition on that. When I drew this in the late fall of 1986, I still had trouble with cylindrical shapes and used a pair of compasses to get me started on the barrel of Cliffjumper's rather impressive weapon, though I could not see how to get the effect to carry through its entire length. Despite the obvious shortcomings of the piece -- and working with ball point pens and Penol India ink put did put a little extra pressure on me to get it right on the first try -- I think I managed to keep the proportions of the characters fairly true and the colours were reasonably well-applied.
