Despite all the adult cartoons we've been getting in this day and age, the general public still considers animation as a "kid's genre" instead of a visual storytelling medium. To those who say "Well, animation was always for kids, especially Looney Tunes and Walt Disney", should actually look at some of the old Disney and Looney Tunes shorts, especially the ones made during World War 2. While some of them are a bit kid-friendly, they were not really directed towards kids. Some of them were made to help recruit soldiers from other countries to help them fight against the Germans and the Japanese and their allies, like in Saludos Amigos. It was made to recruit some Latin American soldiers, and as racist as Coal Black and the Sebben Dwarfs were, it was made to help recruit African American soldiers too. Not to mention, there was a collection of Looney Tunes shorts, with one of the directors being Chuck Jones and some written by Dr. Seuss himself, Theodor Geisel. They were called Private
