This is a map I made for the Cartographers Guilds annual challenge. Took me quite a while, but I liked how it turned out and learned even more
Pen and paper, then colored and labeled in Photoshop.
Thank you. Cartography is tons of fun! I've drawn inspirations from many sources. In developing the style I've tried to mash together a 16th – 17th century city map style(Braun and de Wit mainly)with a more contemporary style. The buildings are inspired by many different sources and artwork, but mainly my own imagination and fantasy mythos
You got my sole vote on CG and you really deserve to win this challenge, truly.
Of course, knowing that most of this is hand drawn, on paper hey no wicked PS done, has a special nice taste to me.
I could talk about the details all day long. Well done and thanks for sharing this masterpiece
Thank you Fred, that means a lot coming from you. After all, your work is a great source of inspiration for me
Besides, I may have done a couple of things but you've done ten times more! which tells me I should hurry a bit more to keep the pace, by the way ...
Thank you. You are to humble though. In my mind I'm not even near your league. Starting to climb out of the sandbox here, you're already on top of the mountain
Awesome art of castle and village you draw, I think I like it.
