"People of Tōrōgakure, if I may borrow your attention. This day marks the start of a new era!"

Story Arc: Chapter 2  Introducing the Masked Men: Uninvited Guests.

The last night of the festival roared louder than any other, fireworks flew, and lanterns glowed softly,
Tarou Kitsune, the Akarikage, gathered everyone at the center of the village at the far end of the main road,
just in front of the Akarikage's office to give one final speech, to finish the festival with as he always did.
But before he could let out a word, a strange voice filled the air, one that no one could recognize.

"People of Tōrōgakure, if I may borrow your attention. This day marks the start of a new era!"

It came from atop the large, wooden look out tower on the other side of the main street,
adorned with decorations from the festival. It was a bit hard to notice at first with all the lights,
but at the top of the tower stood three masked men, draped in flowing, black cloaks and masks.

The man furthest to the left held an incapacitated Shirogane Clan Jōnin under one of his arms,
and the larger man to the right kept his hands in a 'tiger seal,' implying his readiness for combat.
The figure in the center raised his hand, as if to welcome everyone's attention before continuing.

"We're not here to start a conflict, we're here to bring about an era of peace and enlightenment.
We're here to put an end to this uneasy era of war, and create true utopia, a land of true equality.
Tōrōgakure however, does not belong in that utopia in it's current state, it's... tainted, disgusting!
But it does not have to be, with some refining, we can rid Tōrōgakure of it's ever growing filth."

The villagers stirred, puzzled, and confused at his wording, 'filth?' in Tōrōgakure?

"There is one way to cleanse this village, and that is by purging it of all Kekkei Genkai!
Then, and only then, will you be able to transcend into an age of equality, the true utopia.
Should you cleanse this village, it will be spared by us, and see the golden age of equality."

Such words stirred outrage among the villagers, especially in Tōrōgakure of all places.
Tōrōgakure in particular was known as the most diverse, clan-based villages on the continent.
It was common knowledge that most of the major clans had some sort of Kekkei Genkai Jutsu.
Adhering to such commands would be the same as cutting the village in half, or even more!
Tarou Kitsune, the village's Akarikage smirked at the announcement, and stepped forward.

"Those are some pretty big demands for such small shinobi." Tarou bellowed back,
He began to channel his chakra before finishing, "... and what if we don't? What then?"

"Then you will all perish." muttered the hooded figure before raising his hand again.
As he finished, a volley of shuriken from his two assistants sped towards the villagers!
forming some hand seals quickly, the man to his left shouted,

"Art of a Thousand blades: Shuriken Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!"

As quickly as the volley came into view, what was maybe ten or twenty shuriken
became thousands of black wheels of death, spiraling towards the unprepared villagers.
But before anyone could even blink, Tarou, the Akarikage stood before his villagers.

     "Doton: Doryūheki!"

A massive wall of earth broke free from the ground and rose before the villagers,
shielding an entire street full of villagers from the deadly barrage of cloned shuriken.
Though the technique wasn't flashy by any means, it was swift and incredibly effective,
and with the Kage's strength, even a common technique like that was awe-inspiring.

"As the Akarikage, the shadow that watches over the village hidden by lanterns,
I cannot agree to such demands." Spreading his arms wide, he clapped his hands together,
and at that moment, more earth walls rose up around the villagers, protecting them from all sides.
"I won't let you harm anyone in our village!" Tarou's booming voice filled the village.
Seeing their protector so fired up reassured the villagers somewhat, despite their situation.

In retaliation, four members of the Shikaku Seiei emerged, hidden within the crowd.
At break-neck speed, they abandoned the walls Tarou had made, and prepared for battle.

They charged the masked intruders at incredible speed, weapons brandished, ready to kill.
But just as quickly, the rightmost figure left expelled a large amount of flames from his mouth,
engulfing not only the entire tower, but the approaching members of the Shikaku Seiei as well.
Meanwhile, the man on the right performed some sort of reverse-summoning technique,
and the three vanished in a cloud of smoke. Sensing they were gone, Tarou lowered his wall of earth.

As quickly as they had interrupted, they were gone, but a threat still reside in the village.
Due to the various ropes and hanging decorations, the fire on the tower spread quickly,
the buildings nearby, the hanging ropes adorned with lanterns only helped to spread the flames.
The villagers of Tōrōgakure began to panic, and the shinobi were forced to act quickly.

But who were these masked men? and why did they come to Tōrōgakure? Only time will tell...
But first things first, we have to put out this fire!

Story Arc Missions: Chapter 2  Uninvited Guests Arc Missions and Tasks:

Do note these missions are OPTIONAL! However, each mission will give you a reward.
Remember, Ryõs are used to raise stats, improve chakra natures, and later on, other things!

Help put out the fire before it spreads beyond the main street! But be careful!

− Mission Type: Static path. Client: Tarou Kitsune. Reward: 100 Ryõs.

2. Escort helpless villagers to safety!
Keep in mind, Tōrōgakure is home to more than just shinobi and great warriors,
the village houses many civilians such as farmers, merchants, and store owners.
With the festival going on, many of them are in the main street, and in major danger!
− Mission Type: Static path. Client: Tarou Kitsune. Reward: 100 Ryõs.

3. Keep Searching! You'll find them!
Some of the villagers are still missing, keep searching! Evacuating everyone is priority!
Someone could have been trapped in their stall, or a building near where the flames started!

− Mission Type: Static path. Client: Tarou Kitsune. Reward: 100 Ryõs.

The Aftermath of the Fire: The Festival comes to a tragic conclusion.

The fire has been put out thanks to the heroics of the villagers! But at what cost?
Unfortunately, some people didn't make it out of the fire, despite the efforts of our heroes.

It's a sad day in the history of Tōrōgakure, as for the very first time in 66 years,
the festival celebrating our village's founding, a time of happiness, was interrupted.
It came to a terrible close, accompanied by nothing but flames and crippling tragedy.

As a sign of respect, we'll raise the last batch of the lanterns in mourning of those lost.
As well as those who came before, and to hopes that next year, things would be different.
Was this just a juvenile attack? No, this was the actions of something much, much bigger...

Casualties: Ishi Tokushima and 53 other civilians, 7 of which died from their injuries.

4. The Aftermath:
The fire might be out, but that doesn't mean everything is 'spick and span.'
There's lots of burnt buildings on the main road, lots of smoke, lots of damage.
This is a scavenger hunt, try and help people find things that they lost in the fire,
lost family treasures, items, even just to make sure no one else is still missing.
− Mission Type: Static path. Client: Tarou Kitsune. Reward: 100 Ryõs.

5. The last of the lanterns:
The village is launching the last batch of lanterns, although, not all together.
Rather, everyone is scattered, launching their lanterns (or what's left of them)
into the sky, in hopes of sending off those lost in the fire with one last lighting.
An unsettling aura of melancholy and regret passes from villager to villager,
as the smoky, gray skies begin to fill with little, yellow lights. Farewell, friends.
− Mission Type: Static path. Client: Tarou Kitsune. Reward: 100 Ryõs.

You hadn't meant to let your mind lead you on like that. The reason that he was ignoring you was that you hadn't turned into a human or talked to him at all lately, and it was starting to worry your three housemates. This was attributed to the fact that you were undeniably attracted to the Prussia man and had grown to love him over the course of your stay.
