It's been quite some time since my last journal entry, almost a year actually. I find that my trip to Japan has, believe it or not, helped me to appreciate certain aspects of home, despite all the problems with West Michigan, which include a record setting unemployment rate. Still, I cannot help but miss Tokyo - I did a lot of growing up while I was away, and its far too difficult to get good Asian cooking ingredients here.
The past semester was busy to say the least, having taken both my Thesis and Capstone courses together, but the time I spent doing so was invaluable. I have a clearer understanding of postmodernism, much more than I did in high school (this was a frequent topic of my COM 495), and I feel that this has made me a more understanding person. And while it may seem that it does not follow, at the same time, I feel that my personal beliefs are stronger than they have been in the last few years.
IN OTHER NEWS
The few of you who follow my page religiously may have noticed that I've been doing some reorganizing of my gallery, trying to make it appear a touch more professional, as well as uploading several old compositions that predate my college career. Its interesting to see just how much I've changed since then; I can't help but laugh at some of the comments and follow-up responses made to my old deviations. Though many of these were taken down, I made sure to save these pages to my Hard Disk as a sign of the progress we've made, if not simply for a good laugh every once in a blue moon.
More to come as time allows!
