In 2017, Adobe announced that their long-time animation program, Adobe Flash, would reach its end of life as a program at the conclusion of 2020, after over 20 years of prominence on the internet. Along with it, support for the animation viewer Flash Player was discontinued, and at this point modern web browsers have blocked the Flash plugin from running, as it is out of date. The man with no arms
Once upon a time I was commuting in a public vehicle when this guy came in and sat right beside me. I noticed he had no arms. Like literally no arms right up to his shoulders. I think he was born without them. It was the first time I’ve encountered people like him and to be honest I felt a bit awkward cuz eyes were glancing our way. He then politely asks me to take out his wallet to pay his fare. I did what he asks, took some money out, hand it to the driver and returned both the change and wallet back to his pocket. As he exited the vehicle a lot of passengers stared at him and began murmuring. I knew how they all felt and I’m pretty sure he didn’t appreciate it. It’s been 10 or so years and this experience has been stuck with me since then. Many times I wondered what life must be like without arms. I think if this guy had just one arm he’d be the happiest man in the world. Most of us are born with two arms. So what the fuck are you doing with them?
