I don't know how I missed this one before. Such passion. I knew the moment I saw this that it was New Cathedral--and yours. Brilliant, my dear.

It was a day I had planned on shooting and was supremely disappointed when I looked outside that morning and saw how overcast it was. But I decided to head out anyway because I was going to be shooting for genealogical research as well as artistic, so I figured I could at least get that out of the way. When I got to the cemetery (which is on very high ground) I could see these wonderful streaks of gold and orange on the horizon line where the sun was trying to break through the clouds. So I quickly zipped around and framed up some shots in various parts of the cemetery, trying to take advantage of the light while it lasted. It worked out pretty well in this set of images, I think.

Thanks!

Seconded!  The splash of color is great, and it's even better knowing it was fortuitous.

Same thing happened for my double rainbow pictures at Gettysburg -- sometimes one is just in the right place at the right time.
