"... He was the bane of my existence. The very antithesis of my beliefs. I despised him and expected the same in return. Yet in his absence, left with naught but to ruminate on my blunder that led to his untimely demise, I couldn't help but feel that... He was taking care of me in his own twisted ways. Terrible as he was, so was I, and blood runs thicker than water, after all."
... Was gonna try out these cool new fine liners I got myself over the holidays, and have fun with background details, but then I was suddenly struck with a fey mood to draw a dearly departed family member of mine before I might begin to forget what he looked like. >):^c
The context of the scene depicted above is too personal for public display, so I'll just leave that up to interpretation. >):^I
I totally regret coloring this with crayon, it smeared up all the fine lines into unrecognizable garble goo. So that's the lesson learned painfully right there. Graphite and crayon do not work together, and crayon eats pigment liners for breakfast. Oh well, now I know better. ( Shrugs ) >):^/
EDIT: Thought about pulling this one off-line since it's a macabre subject, but I think it would be disrespectful to take it down now to my Bro-in-Law, who this piece is a tribute to. So I extended the plaque text to honor him instead. I hope ya the appreciate the gesture, Bro... Don't haunt me, OK? >)X^D
