I must admit it: I love small towns, steeped in history and marked by the passage of time. I’m drawn to crooked walls, peeling surfaces and imperfect architecture that seems to hold the memory of every passing moment. My country generously indulges this inclination.
Perhaps this is also why, for those who share a similar outlook, travel photography can become a trap. This happens particularly in large modern cities, where everything seems already set up for the perfect composition: pedestrian crossings, buildings, signs, traffic, glossy surfaces, geometric shapes, reflections. You simply need to raise your camera and the image almost presents itself.
Black and white further accentuates this impression. By removing colour, the city immediately takes on a denser, more austere, almost meditative air. Every street seems to allude to a reflection on contemporary loneliness, every crossing to a possible metaphor, every shadow to a hidden meaning.
The city has so much to offer.

Description
The castle dates back to the 14th century. The Venetians took possession of it in the 15th century and transformed it into a military fortress with a defensive function, equipped with four mighty bastions. In 1509, following the Venetian defeat, it passed into the hands of the Habsburgs, who controlled it until the end of the Great War.
