2019 is here, and I think its no secret that Nintendo is set to have a fantastic year this year, just based on what we already know. While no Nintendo Direct has yet to be announced, it is very common for Nintendo to hold Directs in January and February. As of right now, based on the last direct, we kind of have an idea of what to expect, and I just wanted to give my predictions of what I think we are likely to see.
-Luigi's Mansion 3 is a title that was announced in the September 2018 Direct, and it was given a 2019 release date, so I think we can expect to see it.
-Fire Emblem: Three Houses is another big title coming up this year that is still slated for a Q2 2019 release. Its likely we will see more of it at this Direct.
-Animal Crossing Switch is another big and highly anticipated game they have confirmed for 2019. It was announced at the end of the September 2018 Direct and hopefully we will finally get a full gameplay reveal trailer.
-Daemon X Machina is likely to get a release date and another trailer during this Direct. It was confirmed for a 2019 release date during E3 2018.
-While a trailer has just dropped for Yoshi's Crafted World, with a release date of March 29th, 2019, its likely they will give us a reminder during the Direct.
-There have been many rumors of Persona 5 coming to the Switch, ever since the reveal that Joker will be the first DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
-There have also been rumors of the Spyro Reignited Trilogy coming to the Switch. If Microsoft's consoles can get it, despite never having a Spyro game on their consoles, its possible the Switch could.
-Bayonetta 3 is a title they revealed at the 2017 Video Game Awards and as of now, we still have no information about beyond the announcement. It is possible we could finally hear something about Bayonetta 3 here.
-Metroid Prime 4 is another game we've known about since we got the reveal at E3 2017. Reggie Fils-Amie has said it is well into development right now, though I imagine this is something we'll see at E3 2019 instead of this Direct.
-Pokemon's 8th Generation has been confirmed for the second half of 2019 at E3 2017 as a core RPG for the Switch, and again via a tweet after the official announcement of Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee. It is very likely to get its own Direct though between now and March.
-Pikmin 4 is another big title that has been long in development. It was confirmed by Miyamoto in 2016, though nothing has been said about it since then, other than confirmation that it is in development.
-There is the possibility of another DLC fighter reveal for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, as well as Joker gameplay footage.
We still have no word yet on when the next big Nintendo Direct will be, but hopefully in the coming weeks we will finally see one.
