My Bio

I am a passionate landscape photographer based in Nordreisa, Norway.

Being based in Northern Norway is like being based in a photographers playground. Fjords, mountains, auroras and the midnight sun are just some of the perks of living well within the arctic circle.

Photography is something that became a hobby of mine by pure chance. I needed a new hobby to pull me away from playing video games online. Little did I know of the digital darkroom at that time…

Since I picked up my camera, my work has been featured all over the place. Especially my images of the elusive northern lights. Which obviously is something I am very proud of – this is after all just a hobby.

I have also been doing guided tours in the Lofoten Islands and Iceland. This is something I have enjoyed, but at this point in my life I no longer have the time to devote to it, so I am back to photography being what it was meant to be initially.

These days I just sell prints and license my images.

If you are interested in following along as I capture more of the nordic landscapes, be sure to add me on social media.

Sorry for the delay in replying to you, but thanks alot for taking the time writing this critique.
The "reflection" is mirrored for printing purposes, but the original image is a photograph which I took last winter.

This particular edition is a tad to sharp in the mountain area, but I've soften this up a little for print, but haven't updated it for web yet.

Thanks alot though for the compliments in your critique :)

The reason I use ISO1600 is simply to see that many stars. The backside of ISO1600 on my camera is that the colors get somwhat washed out, but those colors I can recreate in post-processing. I don't worry much about noise since I use a Nikon D800 and good optics.
The general idea is to bump the iso and have a wideopen aperture, so I can get the shortest shutterspeed - most of the time. There's always exceptions though :)
Above and Beyond
Thank you so much for taking the time writing this critique.

When it comes to the location and framing I was kinda restricted due to the fact that I've shot this spesific location to pieces earlierin the season :)

This is a single shot image, no hdr. The reason the back of the clouds look darker is simply because they are backlit.
Since this image is part of a 400 picture series only a few frames would keep the sun a 1/3 of the image. Spesifically for this image I cropped it to have the horizonline at a third, but in the video the sky and bottom will be more or less equal due to the reflection.
I guess the vignetting could have been different, it's a little bit to strong.

Bottomline would be, I can't always compose an image like a photography "is supposed to be" when shooting a scene for a timelapse :)

Again, thanks for taking the time writing a critique :)
