For those who don't part take in the Hispanic culture, Day of the Dead is an important period of the year. It starts October 31st through November 2nd. It's when we Mexicans spend out time gifting presents to the ones who passed away with a shrine. We spend days preparing for these three days. We gift things to our deceased that they once like when they were alive. It's not a time for mourning their death but celebrating the life they had.
Part of the culture is dressing up like Halloween but mostly dress up as skeletons. I also added Marigolds in her hair. Usually Family members will place down marigolds from their loved one's grave and make a trail back to the home so they won't get lost. They say that marigolds have a strong fragrance that the dead can even smell it from the beyond.
