Reflective by Tonyr

This is a very old shot from my past calendar series. Have titled it reflective not only for the mirror as I believe that the model's mood feels very reflective. Adds so much power to a model image when the model resists the temptation to pose for the camera. Often when we are photographed the process becomes intimidating as we place the result ahead of the process. However in shots like this where the model looks authentic the mood creates as much if not more impact than the looks.

Indeed, the mood of contemplation is present. I also love the slight glimpse of the bra's tag peeking out, which also lends an air of authenticity. Too often, every little blemish is airbrushed out, and clothing and scenery are so perfectly pristine... I enjoy the nuance of "imperfection" in photography.

Thanks for your feedback. It is rare that anything other than desaturation of colour or cropping isdone by me. I believe that if you pose the model carefully and help her to be emotionally present/authentic that air brushing is not needed.

Every time I see one of your images; old or new. I am always taken back to when I was struggling to find my style of shooting and I had a couple of your Pumped Up Down Under calendars around and always found myself get caught up in fantasizing by them. So thanks for the help some time ago. Natural lighting, beautiful women and real locations. Doesn't get much better than that for me really.
