I made my bread and butter with flash animated banners and websites in the early 2000s. Music that would play automatically, long loading screens with superfluous animations. Good times, good times...

This was undoubtedly one of my favorite comic art illustrations as a child. I would see it advertised in the comics in black and white and I sent them my quarter (or fifty cents) and it never came... heartbroken 10-year-old.

Merry Marvel Marching Confusion (Michael Golden)
I think the composition is solid and the logo design and placement is spot on. The likenesses look a little... familiar. I thought the kid on the front reminded me of Drew Struzan's art from the Phantom Menace  film poster and the chic reminds me a bit of Angelina Jolie.

The teaser verbiage is good and peaks the interest...

Overall the mood is charming, the colours are well balanced and soothing. However, I think that in certain instances, we see crisp edges... in the figures and in some of the windows as well as the circular yellow bulbs in the top of the composition; then we see looser shapes for some of the windows.

I would offer that using one technique (loose or crisp) would lend a greater sense of overall balance. Perhaps crisp for all the primary elements and loose for the secondary elements?

The gentleman is standing a bit too close (or too far away) from the tree in the foreground, it creates a visual tangent when we see elements so close but not touching. Sometimes this can be effective, for example if the mans hand was just about to touch the woman's, it would lend an added degree of tension...

The leaves look a bit too digital, as if you used the brush tool with the leaves setting...

My favourite aspect of the image is the folds on the clothes, the subtle changes in the mans vest are great! The palette is also spot on. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/w/w…" width="15" height="15" alt=";-)" title=";-) (Wink)"/>

Thank you, again. I think the dangerous part about digital art is that it can go one forever. At least with traditional methods there comes a point where your art surface can only sustain so much wear and tear.

These days, using actual paint isn't practical due to my personal circumstances and the convenience factor. But if the end product is the same, I think I'm going to be using paint again...
