Karen ignores the crowd-boos, puts a belly on Kimmy and grinds away for a 5-count pinfall some 15 minutes in the making. The slender Asian lass bucked and writhed with all her lissome strength, but just couldn’t find a way to get out from under her bigger tormentor.

“I know everyone wanted a free-wheeling brawl,” Karen admitted after stinking out the joint, “especially Kimmie, but I just wasn’t having that. I wasn’t going to play her game. Starts at the weigh-in with her - all her ‘Pretty Kimmie Chen’ crap that gets under girls’ skins. By the time the fight comes around, everyone just wants to smash her face in…but I took my ego out of it. I know she’s hotter than me, so her games had no effect. I know she’s faster and better with her strikes, so I wasn’t going to stand and trade with her. But my top-game rocks, and I knew if I could get her on her back, put a tummy on her, she wouldn’t be able to handle the beef!”

Karen advances to the final round of Yard Boss for the first time in her workmanlike career. Kimmie comes oh-so-close in her rookie season, but discovers a glaring weakness in the process - something she’ll have to address going forward, if she doesn’t want other girls trying the same approach.
