I enjoy this painting, and I think the landscape is beautifully rendered. the concept is neat, the juxtaposition of the landscape and the table is very surreal. I think the quality of the table is not as strong as the quality of the landscape. the woodgrain is very detailed, but the wood looks fake, maybe it's too bright, maybe it's not shaded quite right. The starry sky/space behind the table is well rendered, but also not necessarily the best choice...The ladscape on table, with the archway to another landscape is a cool/weird, surreal play on perception and space, but table in outerspace is maybe distracting from the strength of the sky/mountain/foliage, and the colors are so starkly different from the rest of the piece it is adding to the flatness of the table. I would think about removing the starry sky. it would still be a striking piece with something more subtle behind the table, or you could work in a wall with a window or archway into the starry sky behind the table.

I think I said once before, the drawer reminds me of a Jan Svuankmeyer movie "Alice".

Thank you for giving such a detailed comment on my work.:)
You can imagine that I had a lot of discussions with people visiting me about that drawer when I was working on this piece.;)
This work is about balancing on a small line in fact.
In my opinion I succeeded but things differ with other people ofcorse.
I love Svankmeyers movies a lot btw:)

How is the magazine btw? I 'still didn't receive a copy. Perhaps it is not ready yet?

yes i have so many distractions. sometimes i wish you had never introduced me to second life, but without it i would not have created so many interesting things in there.

I have been better with managing my time between the two art forms.
