Tell me who you are, and where will you be when
The melody of night hits the light rising up
In the east.
The darkness is fading.
Bring the world of just black and white into
Light, as you rise, bringing color into your world.
Dark memories vanish.
Oh, as your mind travels through
Emotions and notions of friendship
Nothing seems to thrive.
Now, as I see you crying
At the darkest depths of your soul,
Something amiss, diving into darkness,
Darkness which consumes your mind.
Holding onto your past isn't worth it.
Nothing can be done there now.
The black and forgotten hopes reside
Only to be unlocked here and now.
But turning to me, the unknowing,
You stared straight through my eyes.
“There's nothing you could possibly see here.”
Reaching in you shut me down.
Hiding from light and life in your own
Secret world that I'm never to know
Because you'll never let go of your hold
On your past.
Oh, as I sit here watching
The Hell burning on your face
My soul cries out giving all yet
Nothing.
But as I look outside of
Darkness and into the light
I see what you want, when you said,
“It's something I'll never have!”
But if you'd look and try to catch
The light running past you'd hear
The sound resounding.
“Didn't I turn you off? Why can't you stay out of my mind?”
And again you reached in to control.
But now you see that life in
This darkness is harder
Without the noise of someone else
Blaring in the background.
No matter how many times you yell
And scream and turn me off,
I'm set on helping even in silence
To take you back to the world
Made by light.
Take my hand in the silence
Hold on just for a while.
I know that you are dying to exist.
Just listen to the silence again.
I'm here. I'm near.
Silence isn't so lonely
When you're not alone.
