Daily Deviation

Given 2004-10-07
Many times when people view fractal art, or create fractal art, they think in sheer aesthetic terms. "Will this look good? Will it be pleasing to the eye?" But every now and then, someone comes along and changes the rules. *TomWilcox is one of those people. Hiroshima Combines brilliant visuals and color, he captures a theme that is not easy to tackle in any style. Take a moment to look and reflect on this piece, and then take a look at his whole gallery. It redefines what can be done with the genre. ( Suggested by lolly and Featured by voodoo-prophet )

What a wonderful tribute to those innocent people who lost their lives to this bomb.

Thank you. Yes, innocent they were. I know all the arguments about the bomb(s) shortening the war, not having to send our men into Japan where they expected casualties of 2 million, and all that stuff. I still can't accept what was done. It troubles me whenever I think about it.

Hi Tom,
Stunning Imagery - the Master at work again - great concept for dedicating - we know - not many do - the central core with the illumination is truly the sparks of energy of each & every soul that was released that day along with the Worst HORROR of Power ever -nuclear weapons - the light spreads out so perfectly on the soft fluild motion of the fineset material only God could Create - you fill the black space so perfectly with the light & the softest sheerest(sp) imagery - words do this piece no justice - it is a feel piece & a hope for real PEACE - thank you so much for letting me see your soul through this piece & it is beautiful - Angelina  :) :sun: :star:

Hi Tom
That hour & all that led up to it are pure horror - everyone was killing - torturing - you name it - PURE HATE - saddens God - we are savages - we destroy what is perfect - some of us try to not be like this & are succeeding to a point - you feel the pain in the air - you see it all over - a friend of mines says that mankind is an experiment that has gone wrong - how true - at least we know & that counts - at least we try to mke it a better place - this is so important - I appreciate you - thank you very much for being a friend of mine - take care - Angelina  :) :sun: :star:

Yes, it is all true. I am often reminded of the time in the movie, "The Fifth Element" when the girl learns all about the history of Earth in a few minutes by watching a sped up newsreel of everything that has happened . She sees war after war and cries.

Hi - what a great movie in regards to this - why we cannot get together & have peace on Eath is beyond me - God Knows & is taking care of it - we are destroying this place - He will stop it - I do not like how but it must be done - I get so many messages it is horrible - He took out New Orleans cuz it was a major sin city - this is a fact but people do not know this - there is plenty more coming & many will die - it hurts me deeply but it is sorta like if He could do another Noah - that is not the way this time though - I cry too - it saddens my heart - it hurts so deeply cuz I have been turned on to feel these things - I am so glad you are a God Fearing Christian like me - I am over joyed when I meet another one - it makes my heart smile - take care My Good Friend -You Mean a lot to me as a person I can truly respect cuz you are in the process of becoming a better person each & every day - Angelina  :) :sun::star:

This is awesome! n.n I've scanned your gallery and it seems like you are quite the deviant! *Laughs* Almost everything I've taken a look at so far is fantabulous!

Something that drew my eye to this picture though, I was born on the day that we bombed Hiroshima, Aug. 6th and the name caught my eye on thise one. Not the image.

So I take a gander and here I find one of your best works in my opinion.

Super job, keep at it!

Hi Lena,

Thanks for the nice message! How wonderful and symbolic that you were born on that day of the year. I have never commented much about my feelings of the dropping of the bombs on innocent people but let's just say it deeply troubles me. If I were you I would see a very deep meaning in the fact that you came into the world on that day of the year. It is very special. Thanks so much for sharing that with me. Thanks again for the wonderful compliments on my work.

Best regards, Tom

In your description of the print version of this you mention that you are haunted by the thought of so many innocent women and children killed by the bomb. Were there not also many innocent men killed? Why does everyone only mention the women?

Very good, Although I don't like the border...

There's too little art about the Japanese-American Holocaust, although this week visiting Japan it's been inmy thoughts a lot.

The abstract becomes concrete through a title, and beauty is made solemn.
