This piece reminds me of artists like Monet, Morgan, or perhaps even Richards. Of course there are some obvious reasons for it, like the rural setting, and the colours.
But there are also other elements that attract me. There is a balance in the image attained by opposites. The overall weight of the shot is carried on the bottom left. The effect is attained by the volume of the road and the saturation of colours in the road and trees. This is balanced by the more pastel colours and saturation of the top left, in the clouds and in the town.
The roofs within the town form not only a striking line which in essence separates the two spheres, but also provide a contrasting colour to the trees.
Over all, this is a well thought out and composed image (even if it was not conscious at the time). While the processing is very well done, there appears to be a smidge of over processing in the clouds. (One must of course remember, that as a photographer trade offs are part of the trade, and obtaining the results as displayed may have required this small sacrifice).
