My Bio

My passion is in capturing the female face and form, in images ranging from abstract compositions and quirky portraits to art nude poses, and occasionally something more edgy.

All my images are captured in colour, but I'm still keen on seeing them in monochrome too.

I'm not a professional, but photography is a very large part of my life. I shoot mainly in my Birmingham studio, but try to add location work whenever the British weather allows.

I welcome any interest and feedback from other image makers. However, if you post comments that do not respect my models, or have no work of your own on this site, I will block you. A few images of your pets or genitals do not count, nor do images clearly stolen from the web.

Many thanks for your interest in my work.

Current Residence: Midlands, UK

Favourite photographers: too many to list, but Alec Soth and Todd Hido would be near the top.

Dialogue of the deaf

Dialogue of the deaf

Apologies to my most long-standing and appreciated watchers, but I won't be posting any more content on DA unless or until DA fixes the several bugs that I've reported. Reporting a bug or any other problem on this site now seems like trying to have a dialogue with someone that doesn't want to hear or respond to your concerns. Most fundamentally, the 'block' function is not working, and I do reserve the right to block my work from people who comment inappropriately on models, or who treat the site like a pre-censorship version of Tumblr. Update - thanks to Jim52-Photoworks, I now understand what the issue is with the 'block' function. Still no response from DA admin to my queries, however! I guess I'll continue with the occasional post but, even discounting the mess that is Eclipse, this site doesn't fill me with confidence any more.

Internet freedom under threat?

Internet freedom under threat?

This is just so out of character for me, but I felt a real need to pass this on. Last Saturday's FT Magazine carried a report that should be a cause for concern in anyone that values their freedom to access to the internet. You have to be a subscriber to read it on the FT site, but here's another place you can read it: https://dnyuz.com/2020/03/27/inside-chinas-controversial-mission-to-reinvent-the-internet/ The core message is that, whereas today’s internet is owned by everyone and no one, China is in the process of building something very different — a new infrastructure that could put power back in the hands of nation states, i

Omnes eodem cogimar

I came across this quotation a few days back; My grasp of latin is slender at best, so I resorted to the internet and found that it comes from an ode by Horace, where he adresses some thoughts to a younger friend. It basically translates as "We are all drawn to the same place". In Horace's ode, the words are about the inevitable fate that awaits us all, but it made me think about the images that I create and the work of others that I follow on DA and elsewhere. As a male hetero photographer, I have always been drawn to female beauty, and I'm grateful to those with similar passions, and greater skills, whose work is a constant source of inspir

You're very welcome, Chris. I would have sworn that I already was watching your portfolio but, unaccountably, apparently not. Anyway, that's all fixed now!
