Well, my PC seems to be working fine at the moment. Think it was a faulty Windows Update that was slowing everything down. Still need to get it looked at, but it appears to be perfectly usable for now (fingers crossed).

ENFORCED PAUSE. Well, the reinstall on my PC solved a few problems, but the machine is still epically slow, especially the browsers. It's fine for about 5 or 10 minutes after coming on, but after that everything slams on the brakes big time. Opening tabs on browsers, or reloading, or, in DA's case, scrolling down my Watch List, is like watching paint dry. (The install itself took FIVE HOURS, on a PC with 32GB DDR4 RAM!) Guessing the machine will have to be looked at - the only identifiable physical problem is the CPU overheating - I think the thermal paste has eroded, or whatever the right term is - but that's been an issue for a while, so I suspect this may be something else (hence the Windows reinstall). The long term solution is a new machine, which I was planning on getting anyway, but that is some way off and dependent on circumstances - we're still going through a restructure at work that was originally supposed to have ended in January, and I have no idea whether I will

Not been active faving or commenting the last couple of days, due to major computer problems, which are ongoing. Probably going to require a complete reinstall
