Went through all my 336 deviations (and journals) and fixed up the tags, although I still don't really understand how the tags are different from the search keywords.

nice art! It’s so cool!

Can I ask you something?

Do you have any advice on drawing a manga?

Hmmm, my recent Rosegarden comic was the first 'manga' of any sort that I drew, so I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert. But here's a few tips:

- Find a good screentone pack. Deviantart is a great resource for that. It can also provide some nice 'effect' brushes, like sparkles, bubbles, speedlines, and the like.

- Use your favorite manga as inspiration for panel layouts.

- If you're not familiar already, learn how to use layer masks for applying screentone. It makes it much easier to go back and adjust things, add in gradient fades, etc.

- Proper 'flow' between panels/speech bubbles is one of the most crucial things. A comic where you can't tell what panel to look at/which speech bubble comes next is practically unreadable. Write your script first, and plan your panels to fit the speech bubbles. Then fit the art in around it.

- Try to vary the 'camera angles.' If the last few panels had someone facing straight-on to the camera, switch it up with a three-quarters view. 'Tilt' the camera for visual interest on dramatic panels, rather than have characters perfectly perpendicular all the time.

Hope this helps!
