My adventure with art began in 1978 during the two years of national service in the army. At first I won a competition with a pencil portrait of my friend's young daughter, based on a passport photo he had in his wallet. By that time I was already working in the art studio run by one of the officers, a standard bearer of my company. I have learnt there how to sculpt in wood, paint with different paints, but especialy I enjoyed using the oil which I tested in every way.
After the army, I was painting for the Christian church in Krakow. I painted pictures on the church banners, one of them very unique to me, as it represented the Martyr Barbara Kuskowna. It was blessed by the pope John Paul II. In Krakow I was able to share my knowledge and learn of other artists, some of them in the community of fine art academy. I was often looking in through the door of the class, and try the ways I was able to observe.
Currently I live in Leicester where I am a part of a small community of painters. I continue to apply different media to my art works, the acrylic, oil, air brush, and others. The technique I like the most involves a long process of applying layers of paint, sometimes the results suprise even myself. I am inspired by fantasy, and always looking for something new or unexpected in my imagination. Why fantasy? I think it can move the artist into a original and always expanding world of art, really satisfy the creative vision of a person.
