Wow!! Almost 110,000 pageviews, two daily deviations, and hundreds of comments, and this is my first journal entry!!  I'm such a slacker!!Thanks to all those who viewed my recent Daily Deviation, "Some of Its Parts" http://tom2001.deviantart.com/art/Sum-of-Its-Parts-82827727 featuring the amazing model Mandy.  I wish I could respond to all the over 300 comments this image has received in the past 24 hours, but I'd be at my keyboard for days!!  All your comments were read and appreciated, whether your liked or disliked the image. Most of the comments were overwhelmingly positive. Even comments criticizing my post processing technique were a...

Happy Birthday Tom! Best wishes!
To all of the fans and admirers of Tom's work I have some sad news. Tom passed away several days ago on New Years Eve.

He was a wonderful person and a great photographer. Really the very best photographer I have ever met. His warmth, kindness and generousness in all things was unmatched by any friend I've ever had. He taught me a great deal about lighting as well as technical aspects on jest how to get a better picture.  I still have so much to learn and Tom was always there with guidance to show me the way. He let me use his studio just about whenever I wanted to even letting me mess up his background on one of most recent shoot body painting and one of the models got paint drops all over it. With his help I created some of my very best images ever.

He was also very kind to models hosting them at his home when they were in town and even moving them in when they were between homes or even homeless. He asked nothing in return except a small amount of shoot time with them.

Tom was an extraordinary person who's interests and hobbies were closely matched to my own including a love for film and WWII history as well as many others. He was the only person I have known who had those same likes. Funny, charming, a bit cantankerous at times but always giving his gentle laughter always made you smile. He was one of the best friends I've ever had.

He will be and already is missed.

I really loved Tom's work. It seems he still has a core mempership. Is someome keepinig his site up and running? I was just wondering if there was a way to contact who ever is handeling his estate. I've thought about purchasing some prints of high resolution digital copeis of his work if they are available.

The world lost a talented photographer when Tom passed.
