Breeding Etiquette

• * DO NOT HAVE CONVERSATIONS OF ANY KIND ON THE BREEDING THREAD *

• Decide litter distribution and contact breeding admins individually. Do not create extra comments to tag owners, instead contact them privately a link to the breeding. Replies should be limited to litter rolls and the distribution of litter ownership. Click here to read the full list of exceptions. Members found breaking this rule will have their breedings declined.

• If you have an issue with how your breeding was handled or find an error, do not reply to the roller; instead send a HOWL to the Breeding Department on Tokotna with a link to your breeding.

• Make sure you comment on the correct thread for that week.

• Only one breeding per comment.

• A  new breeding request journal will be posted every month. It is your responsibility to keep track of your own breedings/litters!

Breeding Rules

• Breeding requests are limited per user, per month. Consult the User Breeding Request Limits guide for a breakdown of how many breedings you may post or be involved in.

• Personal monthly breeding request limits are tracked on your Tokotna Profile. Each Tokota's breeding slots are tracked on their Tokotna Slot pages.

• If you do not own one or both of the tokotas in your breeding request, you  must link to the tokota's owner's permission written on the Sire/Dam  Owner Approval thread.

• List only Sore Injuries, Physical Traits, Hereditary Mutations, Hereditary Non-Physical Traits, and breeding-related Companions in your breeding request. Do not copy their descriptions into the form.

• Earned Traits (RoM, Alpha, Elemental Traits) are non-hereditary and should not be listed. Breedings containing these will be sent to corrections. Likewise, companions irrelevant to breedings should not be included, and will be sent to corrections if listed.

• You may purchase breeding supplements to increase your odds at more pups  in your litter. Fertility Supplements, Close Care, Breeder's Box,  Runner's Rations, and Chonk Chews are used in the Main Breeding Thread  and can be found for purchase at the Trading Post. Fertility Roots can only be used in Starter Breedings. If you are not familiar with applying  breeding supplements, check the list of possible options here.

• Do not post your tokota's hierarchy. If your tokota is Alpha, you may request it to be rolled as Dominant instead.

• Submissive tokotas may not breed. Only submissive tokotas whose breeding permissions were written prior to Jan 1, 2017 may breed, and only once a month. Be aware there is a  chance for an empty litter when breeding a submissive tokota.

• Be aware of consequences of attempted overbreeding as well as penalties and health risks which may result from inbreeding and double-merle breeding. These include penalties, infertility and deceased pups.

• Sore Injuries  carry the risk of the breeding resulting in an empty litter. You must  note in your breeding form whether or not you want the breeding to be  rolled for if one or both tokotas involved in the breeding has Sore  injuries.

• Deceased genos cannot be  transferred to other users. Comments dividing split litters with one or more deceased genos must indicate which split partner owns the deceased  geno(s). A deceased geno (born after 5th Nov, 2019) can be resurrected  with the use of a PotA Token earned by completing the Passage of the Alpha.

• Is your username up to date on your bank/tribe/tokotas ownership if you have changed it or switched accounts?

• Is everything that you want to apply to your breeding in your current possession?

> Starter Breedings (Reply Here) <

• Reply to this thread if at least one Tokota in the pair is a Starter Slot (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Aurorium or Pyrite).

• Fertility Root is the only type of litter size affecting supplementary item that can be used in Starter breedings. Fertility Root's bonus depends on the builds of the Tokotas being paired up - it replaces the need for Fertility Supplements and Close Care. Oona's Blessing II, Amber's Blessing II, Bede's Blessing II, and Rabbit Totem can be used in place of Fertility Root to receive the same bonus.

• If using Pyrite Slot(s) and you specify the use of, for example, build boosting items (Kino Tonic, Dire Remedy or Tiny Terror Tincture), only the item usable and applicable according to the builds of the final paired tokotas will be taken from your bank. For example, even if you specify the use of Tiny Terror Tincture but you end up with a normal x dire pair, TTT will not be used.

• You may only post three starter breedings total per month unless you are using the Ardent trait, which allows a fourth starter breeding to be posted.

• Reply here if your breeding was declined and you have been asked to repost.

• Link back to your previous breeding attempt when reposting!

• You have three days after breedings reopen  to post your corrections from the previous month for it to count for  the previous months' breedings. After that time window, you will need to re-post to the main thread, at which point it will count for the  current month.

> Abandoned Puppies (Reply Here) <

• If you acquired an Abandoned Puppy, bought a Mystery Geno or received a Bone Flute or Thread of Fate  from crafting, comment here with the form filled out and an admin will  roll you a random genotype (or a litter, in case of Thread of Fate).

• Using the Rabbit Totem will allow you to have Thread of Fate rolled with litter size increasing supplements if active on your Totem Pole.

• Using the Dove Totem  will allow Abandoned Pups and Exquisite Bone Flute pups a guaranteed +1  additional marking, and the chance to roll Marked, Collared and Accent  is removed. Extension markings are unaffected and are still possible to  roll.

• Reply to this thread with the form filled out to reveal the Geno you've been gifted upon registering on Tokotna.

• You  may include your preferences for the Gender and Base Coat of the tokota, or you may opt to have everything randomly  rolled (in which case, choose the "Random" options).

• Once you've adopted a geno, it is yours to do with as you please. However, as these are provided for free, you cannot sell your Adoption Center geno without first adding value to it. For example, a design, additional artwork, etc.

• Make sure to save your proof of adoption comment that admins give to you. It will be required for getting your design submitted.
