Tribe Achievements are bonuses that tribes can unlock by working together to meet certain goals. Each achievement is part of an “Achievement Tree,” and once a tribe has unlocked all of their General Achievements, they can begin working on a Specialty Tree. Tribes may only choose one specialty tree to complete. Each achievement in a tree has specific requirements to unlock them, which sometimes includes unlocking other achievements first. Be sure to read the requirements carefully.

In order to unlock an achievement, the tribe must have it confirmed by an admin over on the cycling Tribes Journal. Founders will need to compile all required links for proof into a single, temporary "achievement tracker" for easier confirmation. You do not have to keep a running tracker for all tribe achievements, but your proof and requirements must be gathered up into a single place (a stash file, a journal, or even a google doc that’s viewable by everyone) in order to be submitted for confirmation.

Please note that, as has always been the case with tribes, founders have the right to determine who does or does not have access to the tribe's unlocked benefits. This may be determined based on things such as how long a member has been in the tribe or how much activity they put forth.

Rules

  • Tribes may work on all of the General Achievements at once.
  • Tribes may only post one achievement for confirmation at a time.
  • Achievements may only be unlocked once all listed prerequisite achievements have been unlocked.
  • Once all of the General Achievements are unlocked, tribes may begin the process of unlocking the achievements within a Speciality Tree. They may, like General Achievements, work on all of them at once, but may only be unlocked once the prerequisite achievements have been unlocked.
  • Tribes may only choose one Specialty Tree to complete and may not change their chosen tree. Choose carefully.

Tribe Sizes

Tribes are broken up into categories based on their size. Their size category affects their requirements for reaching achievements. All achievements have an "X" in their Obtained By requirements. The size of your tribe sets your X.

Small
5-25 Members
X = 15

Medium
26-75 Members
X = 50

Large
76-150 Members
X = 100

X-Large
151-250 Members or More
X = 200

Clarification of X vs. Tribe Size

X is the number of submissions, successes, or proofs you need. If you have a Small Tribe with the minimum Members of 5, then every tribemates needs to do 3 to reach the goal of 15. If you have an X-Large Tribe with the minimum Members of 151, then every tribemate needs to do around 1.5 to reach the goal of 200. Smaller tribes have the benefit of a lower goal, but larger tribes require less of each member to reach goals. There is a benefit no matter how you build your tribe size wise. Not every tribemate has to participate to reach an achievement.

FAQ

Is there a date cutoff for what can be used for an achievement?

Yes. In order for something to count towards unlocking an achievement is must have a timestamp after the release of the current, new system (February 11th, 2018). You may use things after this date. Anything before cannot be counted. This means if, for example, you have a tokota who reached average in January 2018 or you did a collab in December 2017, those do not count toward the requirements for these achievements.

Did old tribes lose their benefits with the new system?

Not at all. All of the achievements from the old system, in some form, were moved over and have become the General Achievements tree. With the exception of leasing, they are the old benefits. If you have old benefits you need to have applied to your tribe, head over to the TP Redemption section of the cycling journal. When old, confirmed TP is redeemed, we also check to ensure the tribe has all of the earned achievements.

What is this old system you're referring to?

Before February 11, 2018, individual tribes unlocked benefits by gathering TP and meeting certain accumulative goals with it. We changed this system so it no longer requires TP and is instead earned by completing specific requirements.

How many Specialty Trees can a tribe complete?

Only one. A tribe may complete the General Achievements Tree, and then they may choose one Specialty Tree to complete. This cannot be changed at this point in time.

Does all the art/lit for achievements need to be completed by tribemates?

No. Images and literature done for achievements can be completed by anyone (unless the achievement explicitly states otherwise, such as when you have to collab with a tribemate), be it a tribemate or someone outside the tribe, as long as the work is done for tokotas within the tribe.

Does all the art/lit for achievements have to be completed for tokotas within the tribe?

Yes, it does! You cannot, for example, do a breeding image for two tokotas with no relation to your tribe and have that count toward the Breeder achievement. Only work done for tokotas within your tribe counts.

Do items from CE rolls count toward the achievements that require tribes to "find X items?"

No. The items have to be found in activities, not Continuous Events.

Do achievements still need to be unlocked straight down?

No. Achievements will require the tribe to have the prerequisites listed beneath the name and description of each achievement instead.

Can a tribe post multiple achievements for confirmation at a time?

No. Tribes may only post one achievement for confirmation at a time and must wait for an admin to reply to their previous comment before being able to post another.

What is this "Comment Type" beneath each achievement?

While each achievement summary includes what we are looking for, this added "Comment Type" line is meant to be a quick way to see what kind of link we are asking for.

What is a "submission"?

A submission is defined, for Tribes, as a image or literature you or someone else uploads depicting one or more tokota.

What does "successful" mean?

Something that is successful, for Tribes, is a comment from an admin stating that a tokota brought back an item, reward or that something is confirmed.

Do Tokotas that I co-own count as a tribemate?

No. The tokota must solely owned by another player to count, and can not be a tribe-owned tokota.

Quick question– does a tribe-owned tokota count as a tribemate's tokota for the bonuses?
Furreon's avatar
FurreonHobbyist Digital Artist
It does not!

Tribe Tokotas will not  benefit from (or provide) the following HP bonuses:
  • +4 non-commissioned
  • +2 collabed
  • +1 Pack Leader Activity
  • +2 tribemate
Additionally because of that tribe-owned tokos also don't count as tribemates in situations where a tribemate tokota being depicted is required for example, like if you're a PB and you're wanting to do a tribe activity piece alone, you need to include 2 tribemate tokotas to unlock the tribe activity. For that "tribemate toko is required" a tribe-owned tokota would not count. It would have to be a tribe member owned tokota instead. A tribe-owned toko is in a way treated as every member's own toko (just without the non-com aspect, since it isn't actually you know.. yours xD). Just like you can't get the tribemate HP bonus from your own tokotas, you can't get the tribemate HP bonus from tribe-owned tokotas.

Tribe owned tokos still do give and get other HP bonuses that aren't tribe/owner related, like superstar, fun size, brother bear, alpha etc.

Couple of questions; Do CEs count for 'participating in contests'
Does the system work like the TCA academy? as in can you count breeding images/AoAs for the Breeder bonus, even if you haven't completed 'show stopper II' (though, obviously not submit requirements before hand)?

hope that makes sense :XD:

No, you need to choose from what's listed on the journal.

Ummmmhhh.... i know i have many question in the mean time...
but ... you said to shangry that there is no choice of hunting competition and ice fishing in the archivements...
i have browsed.. around some tribes....
is there... a reason why some tribes have hunting and ice fishing achivements?

Its seems like the Nunivak Pack tribe has Hunting Showstropper
tokotna.com/tribes/achievement…

Asgardsreien got ice fishing...
tokotna.com/tribes/index.php?t…

i know they... posted it before the new achievement system like a friend say that but... wouldn't it be a bit unfair when new tribes don't have the chance to get that?

Just curious dont want to talk that bad :c or something its just my opinion

They're old bonuses that don't do anything anymore since the CE system changed. Which is why new tribes can't pick them. We put them in when we were first registering tribes just so we could get them registered and on the site. In May, there will be a new thread for old tribes to pick from the new bonuses. It would have been up sooner, but I got very sick, so some things are still being caught up.

So no, it's not unfair for new tribes at all. They have bonuses they can use.
HarukiTheWolf's avatar
Ahh i understand :3 now!
now its really clear wasnt sure that they cant use it anymore <3

thanks!!! <3

Im starting a tribe so I want to try to know sooo much i can xD
to be a good leader

Can i ask another question right now?
Did you know if i make a collab fishing as example.. for Bird of a Feather.. achievement...
did i can count that fishing to Outdoor Enthusiast I

Sorry again for asking stupid question! <3
Koevr's avatar
KoevrHobbyist Writer
You can't double dip. So if you do a fishing collab to count for Birds of a Feather, you can't also use it in Outdoor Enthusiast. It would count for one or the other. ;u;

*flies in with another question*

For birds of a feather, if 2+ people did a collab and both submitted it, would each submission count? Or would only a single upload count?
Koevr's avatar

Each image/lit can only be counted once per achievement.

For achievements such as Tribe Leasing, it says you need X successful rolls, it does not state how you get them as long as they are tribe rolls.

  • Obtained by: Completing X successful Tribe Fishing, Hunting, and Explorations (In any combination)

But here an admin comments that you need the X rolls to be unique, comments.deviantart.com/1/7304…, That's far more rolls than just X Successes, so why is it not stated in the journal that each roll has to be unique? That's way more images than just X Successful ones, you'd need 210 successful images if your tribe is an XL one. Is Unique rolls relative to tribe size or do all tribes need all X rolls to be unique?
Koevr's avatar
KoevrHobbyist Writer
It wasn't in the journal because we thought it was clear/it was clear to us. c: Now that we know it's not, we've edited the information in. That's why Tribes are in a Beta. ;u; We're looking for things that aren't clear or for other errors so we can fix it before saying "this is the final product." We've looked at this for many months, so we know how it works. Everything makes sense to us. So we need people to be patient and understanding as we take in what isn't clear to them, since they didn't have the benefit of staring at it for as long as we did, and make the necessary edits/adjustments. <3

As far as needing X unique successes, that applies to everyone regardless of size. X is the only thing that changes, and X is based on the size of the tribe. 210 might seem like a lot, but XL tribes have anywhere from 150 to 250+ members. That's basically asking every member to do at least one image, which isn't really a lot. ;u; It's even less than that if they're in the upper range at 250+ members.

well thankfully we caught it before we put in our success, as we where at 98.2% when a member discovered this.

Once we get the the Birds of a Feather achievement is it retroactive?

All HP bonuses are currently retroactive, so yes!

Awesome! thank you

So for achievements where you need to find items.
Do we need to find the items in a collab with tribe mates or would an item I find in a piece I did on my own count? What about commissioned work does an item count as long as a tribe member's tokota brings it back?

Do items found in CE Activity events count?

do CE Activity events count for the Outdoor Enthusiast Achievements?

do we need to finish the tribe leasing achievement to start on the rest of the achievements?
TokoTime's avatar
Yep!
  • Tribes cannot start work on their chosen Specialty until they have unlocked all General Achievements.

sweet! also, will the admins be looking at Tokotna.com numbers for tribe size, or the member list we keep? we're currently clearing ours out as there's a large discrepancy between the numbers (especially since a lot of people aren't active)
