"Hi friend! Beta Boon, here! This revamp of the Factions system is currently in a Beta Trial period. That means anything is subject to change after an observation period. Hold onto your hats, here we go!

Factions represent different focuses with in the world of Tokotna. When joining Tokotas, you have a choice to join one of the below factions. Every faction has a specific focus with benefits for those areas. Regardless of which faction you choose, you may still participate in any discipline or type of show with your tokota and rider.

You may choose to stay neutral and not join a faction. However, this does not bestow any benefits. Additionally, for certain tasks such as the Rites of Fertility, you must choose either path to temporarily take for your award, (e.g. you are neutral, but decide to finish your Rites of Fertility with Rite of Strength)

Factions compete against each other to collect Faction Points and win the quarterly competition to become the season's Dominant Faction. More information regarding Faction Points can be found from below:

How to Join a Faction

FAQ

Can the free Decor item be applied to an uploaded Tokota?

No, free Decor can only be applied to a new design being submitted to the Soul Pool thread in Design Central.

Does the +25 HP bonus stack with the Lamb Totem/Toko Teddy?

Yes, these HP bonuses will all stack. Please make sure to list them separately in your HP trackers however!

What Common Traits can you find in Activities?

You can find any random common Activity Trait such as Hunter, Fisher, Explorer, Caver and Diver.

Does the discount on Tack and Companions stack with the Tribe Discount/Trading Post Coupon?

Yes, these discounts can all stack together!

Does the chance for an extra pup work on Akota breedings?

No, this bonus does not apply to breedings with Akotas.

How does the WT and LK 4th toko in AoA's bonus work in practice? Do I have to be WT or LK in order to have 4 Tokotas in my AoA set?

As long as someone with a Tokota participating in the AoA set belongs to either the WT or LK faction, you can have 4 Tokotas in that AoA set. Basically one of the 4 Tokotas participating must belong to a person in WT or LK in order to have 4 Tokotas in a set.

Hoping this is the right place to ask this question.

For WT (or any other faction) where you earn stuff (like a Scar Pack or Hand Paint Dye) for uploading a new design, how does that work? Do I have to redeem it myself, or will it automatically be added to my bank each time I upload a new design?

Scribbles-Archive's avatar

So, when you design a new Tokota you can add one of those items to that design for free, rather than using an item already in your bank or spending TT for it. When you put the design into DC, where it asks for item proof, you list your faction & link you Tokotna profile page

All right, thank you!

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you reroll a common random event? How do you know it's common? Are you only able to reroll it before you respond to the prompt? Is it essentially a prompt reroll? I'm a bit confused by it and would like some clarity please! Thank you for your time!
Furreon's avatar
It is rerolled on the admin's end when they've first rolled to see what RE you would've gotten. If its a common one (not publicly available information) then there's a chance that the common RE will get rerolled into another one. So you don't need to do anything, the admin does it all behind the scenes~

Are pack leaders still able to do tribe activities without collabing?  I believe they used to either be able to have 4 tokotas for rolling as long as 1 was a tribe mate or were they able to do a tribe activity without drawing a tribe toko? I can't remember exactly what they were able to do but im wondering if they still can do it lol
Furreon's avatar
Pack Leaders used to be able to do tribe activities without having to include tribemates in the images at all, not having to collab. This has been completely done away with and everyone wanting to do tribe activities, no matter your faction, will need to either 1) collab with a tribemate, or 2) depict 2 tribemate tokotas in fullbody in the image (tribemate tokos don't need to get rolled for if you don't want to, they just need to be present).

Hi, I'm on mobile and trying to set my faction to Knowledge seeker. But every time I try updating it, it goes back to "not affiliated." Is this a bug I've come across?
Furreon's avatar
Are your both password fields empty when trying to change the faction? Sometimes internet browsers might autofill those fields, they both need to be empty to change your faction. If you are getting an error message at the top of the page, could you tell me what it says?
LifesparkAlchemist's avatar
Yes, I make sure they are empty and remove anything that is auto-filled before hitting submit. I don't get any error messages at all. It just asks me if I'm sure I want to change my faction, I click yes, and then it changes to the faction I want. But when I save/go to my profile it doesn't show up at all and resets.
Furreon's avatar
That is very odd.. could you note the group with all possible information and what you're doing to end up in this situation, so we can look more into it? Also include any error codes/messages the page may show.
LifesparkAlchemist's avatar
I don't get any error codes/messages and I'm not doing anything differently than I would on a PC. The only thing I can think of is the site not liking the fact that I'm updating stuff on my ipad, maybe? I'm unsure of what information would have to be given in a note to the group (I'm just as confused as y'all)
Furreon's avatar
The note would be more for us to have a record of the message & issue. Things like comments on journals tend to get lost and then forgotten. Group notes stay so we can go back and look at them and solve issues without having to worry about losing the comment(s). With notes all of the admins can view them also, so that the people who know about the issues the best can help you. So a group note would definitely be more helpful for us! Mentioning the fact that you're using an iPad could be important so be sure to mention it as well please~

On another note, have you tried setting your faction when you're on the PC yet? If not, and you're able to, please try it and let us know if it helped~
LifesparkAlchemist's avatar
Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for the more in-depth explanation! I will send a note when I am able to, which will most likely be after I try it again on PC so I have more information to give.

Hellooo, just wanna double check something here! I used to be a Pack Leader (still am for now) but am considering switching to Lore Keeper, what I'd like to know is, since both PL and LK have +1 HP for activities as a bonus, does that mean I wouldn't have to re-calculate the HP of all my tokos since we'd still have the same bonus acitve? :) I'd just have to change the abbreviation from PL to LK?
Fennarchy's avatar
Yes that's correct!
All HP bonuses are retroactive and can affect the tokos at a later date. C:
TheElvenJedi's avatar
Sorry I'm easily confused and I just wanna make sure I understand you correctly ^^;

Is that yes, I don't have to re-count the HP/it'll stay the same?

or

Yes, I do have to recount it XD
Fennarchy's avatar
OH i should have clarified sorry about that!

You don't need to recount it all, unless you really want to
But as long as the bonus amount stays the same you don't need to.
just make sure its all labeled correctly c:
TheElvenJedi's avatar
Ahhh no don't worry, I just only have so many braincells and they don't always work so good

thank you for clarifying though, that makes a lot of sense! I shall make sure I go through and change all the labels over properly, thank you so much! :D
GuardianARPG's avatar
Just to clarify, when submitting a design to be approved and in a faction that allows free decor, you just have to state you're in said faction to have the item applied instead of it being in the bank?

I ask because if this is the case then welp time to get to those unsubmited designs because I love me some paints!
MarcieIIa's avatar
Yep, that's exactly what you do (: just keep in mind it's only one of each specific item! <3
Spicerooni's avatar
For the +25 HP Bonus for prestigious breeders, do I just add that onto my tracker on it's own separate line?
Furreon's avatar
Noting it in your tokotas' HP trackers is required yes. If something is not listed, then the HP counting admins will not count it.
