:new: Continuous events will be getting a face lift for 2018. The month of January will be a buffer period as the last month to submit entries for the current system!

Continuous events are shows and competitions that will be rolled without a deadline, every time there are at least 5 entries in the folder, or if one month has passed since the oldest entry was submitted, whichever comes first and however frequently the admins' schedule allows.

Rules

  • Each "round" has a maximum of fifteen participants.
  • These are mostly RNG based, however, there are many variables that can increase your score.
  • To participate, you must create a new tracker journal or add a section to your current trackers, where admins can respond with official event results.
  • You may only create 10 continuous event entries per month for all classes, total.
  • You may only win first place once per class, per tokota, per month.
  • Collaborations are permitted, but will not change the maximum number of tokotas allowed per entry.
  • You cannot submit the same tokota twice in one class, until it has been judged.

Entry requirements for all classes

  • Tokotas must be full body in art, and mentioned throughout the piece in literature.
  • Handlers, where required, must be at least 50% depicted in art and be substantially mentioned in literature.
  • Moderately complex backgrounds are required in art as well as coloring. Shading is optional.
  • Literature entries must follow the same basic requirements as for drawing, and have a minimum of 1500 words, with a clear beginning and end.
  • Where equipment is listed it must be shown at least 50% (eg sleds, tack).

Judging

The highest scoring entry will win, and any ties will be broken with an RNG cointoss. The below numbers exclude events that are rolled like activities.
  • 1-60 RNG score
  • +1-20 effort bonus
  • +10 for dominant tokotas
  • +10 for alpha tokotas
  • +10 for correct setting
  • +Trait, companion, tribe, faction, and item bonuses
  • -15 for inbreeding penalties

How to Enter

Submit your entry to the class's linked folder with this form filled out in the description:

Event:
Tokota import:
Tokota career tracker:
Traits/companions/items: (Only list those that will affect your score)
Tribe: (If any tribe competition benefits apply)
Faction: (If applicable)
Wordcount: (If entry is literature)
Activity tracker: (If applicable)
Entry #: (?/10)

How to Redeem Prizes

Once your entry has been judged, continue on to the bank to redeem your prizes. They will not be automatically added to your bank account when the entry is judged.

But I can, like, enter the same CE twice, right? I just can't WIN and choose the same trait twice.
HayleyWolf's avatar
You can enter the same CE twice, but only your tokota can only participate once per round! So if you enter them once you need to wait until that entry is judged before submitting another.

Ah, alright, thank you!

'Only able to be won once per group member and per tokota:'
I'm a bit confused about this- So say a toko wins first place in one of the dom only/alpha shows, dose the user get to pick one of the specified traits for that class? And if the tokota wins first place in that show again, then the user dons't get the trait, because they've won once already? Do they have to specify the trait when redeeming the rest of the prizes?
Sorry about the long question! =w=
HayleyWolf's avatar
You're correct! You get to pick which of the traits you want. You can only win this trait once, so if you win the class again you won't be able to claim one of those special traits. And yes, please specify at the bank which of the special traits you want as your prize :)

What's the difference between the career and activity tracker? Is the career tracker for if we make a separate tracker for these events instead of having a special section for it on our regular tracker?
Barking-Birds's avatar
The Career Tracker is just wherever you want the show placement results to be posted for any of the Events here that you enter. This can be either it's own journal, or in with your normal activity one--either lumped in if you don't separate them, or under it's own comment.
Activity Tracker has a separate spot in the form as it is needed for activity-related results, and is only necessary for the dominant/alpha shows, excluding Perfect Bloodline, as you get an actual activity roll with them in addition to a CE result comment.

I hope this helped, lemme know if this didn't fully answer what you were after. ^^
AmaranthineRain's avatar
AmaranthineRain General Artist
You definitely exceeded what I asked - in a great way! This information makes the process a lot clearer.

One more question based on that: I can understand the "open to all tokotas" and the "dominant/alpha only" competitions; who are the "tier 1" competitions limited to?
Barking-Birds's avatar
Awesome!

Tier one allows any tokota to enter in who does not exceed 19 bonus points from traits, companion, or tack.
So, say I have a tokota with the Honor Trait as well as Excellent Confirmation. Each of these gives a +10 bonus onto scoring for halter shows. Since this totals up to 20 points this tokota is no longer eligible to enter into the Tier 1 Halter show.
Where it says "Benefits(up to 19 points worth)", these are the traits, companions and tack that can be used for bonus points towards this show, but can not add up to more than 19 points..

However beneath it, "Benefits(non-tiered)". These bonuses, as well as the dom/alpha show bonus, when added on can bring you over 19 points without disqualifying you for this event.
In the case of this one I could have a tokota with Honor Trait who is Alpha. The Honor Trait adds on +10 and falls under the 19 point restriction, but being alpha also gives +10 and does not fall under this restriction. So you have 20 points, but since only 10 of those are from the listed benefits that can not total over 19 points you are still good to go. o uo b

AH, okay, those sections were my next question. It's good to know what I can squeeze by with if needed. Thanks for the clear layout, Barking!
Love your username, by the way.

I wanted to submit my only dom tokota for the Perfect Bloodlines CE, but he currently only has one pup uploaded. He’s been bred a few times, but either the pups haven’t been designed, are waiting in DC, or awaiting upload. Would I be allowed to draw an entry with the one uploaded pup and one designed pup that is in DC?

The tokotas need to be uploaded to count. You're welcome to draw it and wait to submit it to the folder, but in order to meet the requirements, they need to be uploaded.

Major bummer that small exceptions can't be made for the last few weeks of the current CE system. I was hoping to create an entry for that CE before the new system for CE's rolled out, as there's no telling what changes you guys made and if I would be interested in really doing more CE's in the future, depending on that system. Guess I just won't then

Just a quick question: For the Caribou Hunting thing, do activities have to be open to submit? Or can I go ahead and post my entry right now?

Currently everything is closed, including CE's. I'm afraid you'll need to wait until we reopen for the new year. c:

For dom-only competitions that are TT based, would TT-increasing traits like Hunter or Fisher count towards that highest TT roll?

I feel a bit stupid for asking this, but I feel like I read a couple of months ago in one of the news journal
that the traits you can get in the dom classes can be won once a year. I've been looking at a few of the news
journals to see if I could find that, but there's so much text to go through :faint:
So I felt it might be better to actually ask, or see if I'm just crazy for thinking I read that

It's once per user AND per Tokota per year, so if you buy a Tokota that has already won a class that year and they win under your ownership you still wouldn't be allowed to get the prize
