Friday 13th : Russell

I wanted to share these portrait designs from my Gorillaz Friday 13th fan art, I was meaning to make a a separate post each of these.
My Gorillaz Friday the 13th fanart : www.deviantart.com/tokimosoda/…

This was my favorite portrait to work on, I was able to work with on a lot of shading for this. A lot of the shading details were for his eyes and facial features, this was also the most stressful to work on along with Noodle's portrait that took awhile to finish work on. I had drawn Russell's left eye with a black eye like the original photo, but because of the other drawing layer for the glasses lens, its hard to see, I had added a lot of detail to his eye along with a large cut / bruise above his eye.

these originally started out as digital sketches before I ended up adding a lot more detail to the sketch than my original idea, I had spend a large amount of time drawing each character with various amounts of colors for the shading and adding a lot of small details for the facial features, hair and clothing. I used the adobe illustrator draw app to draw these.
