2016 Democratic Presidential Primary

For a bit more practice into making topographical maps on QGIS, here is another, more complex political map (because those are never controversial...)!

This one shows the outcome of the 2016 Democratic Presidential Primary, in which the main two candidates, Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senator Bernie Sanders, vied to become the Democratic Party's nominee for President of the United States in 2016. The contest was a notable one in pitting some of the rising parts of the party against each other and the effects of this primary are still felt to this day. With the 2020 Democratic Primary looming as more and more candidates join, I felt this map may be of use for those who want an idea of what things looked like in the last one to get a better understanding of where things might go for the next.

Anyway, another detailed map that was fun to make and I enjoyed it a lot! I hope you all do too, though please try not to do any political fights in the comments, if that's okay?

If you like this kind of map and want to see more or ask me directly how to make one like it, donate to my Patreon!

Why does North Dakota get a focused box?

If you zoom in, it's because North Dakota's caucus results are by legislative district, and so you have to zoom in to the box to see some of them.
