Hey guys,

The folks at Imp House just launched their Kickstarter campaign for their latest project, Mad Love

Mad Love is a cooperative pocket card game of memory and deduction for 2 people played with a deck of just 18 cards in approximately 10 minutes. Its a smaller spin-off of their Lovecraftian dice game, Chaos of Cthulhu.  The game is designed by Travis Watkins and Darth Rimmer with art by me.

Please do check it out, give your support, back it or share about their project! Any help is much appreciated. Thank you!

So, in between my busy comic work schedule, I thought I take on the Adventure April prompt created by Mattydraws that was recommended to my by Artroan on IG. Let's see if I can make it till the end of the month with them. Hope you enjoy this little adventure with the Owl Mage and companions.

With everything that has happened to you, you can either feel sorry for yourself or treat what has happened as a gift. Everything is either an opportunity to grow or an obstacle to keep you from growing. You get to choose.

ENTRY UPDATE: The Inktober official 2017 prompt list is out early:

Good time to dust off and oil our rusty creative gears, and refill our heads with brainstorm juices before next month!

Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

Just updated my online store: with my latest book - Nevermore Oddities. A 42-paged, A5 sized field guide and drawing journal filled with notes, ramblings and inked drawings. The book explores the world of two adventurers - Alex Spectre and Gabe Hunter during the Inktober Challenge of 2016. Includes four color postcards ‘photographs’ inside.

There’s even a collector’s bundle that includes my Fox Mask Man: Memories With The Yokai box prints, so do go check them out! :D

The last large batch of orders has been shipped out on the 26th August, and the bigcartel store is closed for now.

I hope the books arrived in your hands safely; and thank you, once again to all of you, for your support!

I thought to start the month of June with a quote I liked:

When we meet real tragedy in life, we can react in two ways–either by losing hope and falling into self-destructive habits, or by using the challenge to find our inner strength.
— Dalai Lama

To my fellow watchers and followers, and art friends; may you find your inner strength, and be the hope for those in need when there is none. I wish you all a good month, and take care.

Music: Pain, Loss and Love - Rupert Gregson Williams (WONDER WOMAN OST)
Hey everyone,

We've survived through April~ so let's kick some artists blocks this month, get creative and stay healthy (and hydrated too!)
Looking forward to more comic projects and anthologies (hopefully some board or card game illustrations along the way)

But in the meantime, here are two upcoming projects I'm involved in:

Welp, the cat's out of the bag for this one; A new comic book with writer Ryan King (The Games We Played, To Tully Aces) coming to Kickstarter early next week.

UPDATE: The Kickstarter campaign is now LIVE!

I will be working on this spooky project with writer Luc Labelle (Outer God). Built on Strange Ground is a comic anthology of true stories about cursed locations, haunted towns, eccentric neighbors and local lore. From personal experiences to friend-of-a-friend tales to investigations into true stories from history.

Built On Strange Ground is up on Kickstarter now, take a look to see preview pages, a list of contributors and information about the many rewards we have.

Be a witness to life unfolding by itself. Be free of all attachments, fears and concerns by keeping your mind inside your own heart. Rest in being. Like this, your life is always fresh and imbued with pure joy and timeless presence. Be happy, wise and free.

Music: Nina Simone - Feeling Good (Bassnectar Remix)

I'd like to share a mantra from artist Jake Parker,  for those who struggle with their artworks: 'Finished Not Perfect.'
It's a good mantra to remind myself everytime I'm struggling to finish a piece of illustration that I've started. I hope I can do the same for my personal comic projects that I'm reluctant to continue when I become indecisive or fickle minded with the source material.

It is important to expect nothing, to take every experience, including the negative ones, as merely steps on the path, and to proceed.
— Ram Dass

Music: Jacob Lee - I Just Know

The more time you spend immersed in the shitstream of TV/internet/social media the stupider and more boring and just like everyone else you will be. Hang out in real life having good conversations with brilliant and hilarious people, so you can steal their ideas and all the clever things they say. Spend a lot of time alone so you can think up some original thoughts of your own.

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
— Pablo Picasso

The soft overcomes the hard.

The slow overcomes the fast.

Let your workings remain a mystery.

Just show people the results.

Music: MAGIC! No Regrets

Your Heart is the light of this world. Don’t cover it with your mind.
— Mooji

Let yourself be strangely drawn by the quiet pull of what you really love. It will not lead you astray.

Music: Jimmy Eat World - Sure & Certain

The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best.
— Epictetus

Music: While My Guitar Gently Weeps - Regina Spektor

I dunno, I've been a little low on the creative mood for my personal stuff. It's an on and off thing. Some days you see a spark of ideas and visuals, and then some days... well. Another month comes and gone. Let's make it count.

Old Sea Brigade - Sleep In the Park
