Sporty

For my final assignment for Fred Lynch's Style and Substance. The whole class gathered and chose one person, and then everyone but that person would think of a single word that describes the thing that it would be IMPOSSIBLE for that person to draw. And then we have to make an illustration of it. My word was "Sporty." Victorian couples, playing badminton in a mysteriously lit Rococo garden?

Watercolor and gouache, 5 hours sketch to finish. I'm getting frustrated with these scanners. If I wanted to correct this to the kind of colors the original has it would take forever, so some are more saturated (pink tree) and some are less saturated (bright green) than the original but OH WELL.

Oh, P.S. yes you DO recognize this background. I hella recycled it from that comic panel cause I loved it so much hahaha simple minds, simple pleasures, my friends.
