She wonders what his beard feels like. ::SPOILER ALERT:: It's scratchy.

UUUUUGH [link]

As this has gone from "experiment" to "Project" to "SERIES" I have lost my inspiration. I will now drink tea and watch netflix instant stream and resolve to stop stressing about this thing.

Acrylishop, sweat and tears.

I love your whole selkie legend series. They are beautifully illustrated and have a very unique style.

This is absolutely wonderful. I was immediately struck, of course, by the intense depth of field in this piece (something I LOVE when applied to paintings; so many artists forget to utilize it!), and his sweater -- it looks like it is made from a carved, dented and dinged piece of stone! I love how it toys with the eye to see such a striking and unexpected texture.
I'm really enjoying this "series," by the way :)
I've added you to my watchlist and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Your selkie collection is my favorite. Your characters, settings, colors, and messages are beautiful. I love how the selkie and the fisherman compliment one another. Fantastic job!

what is the title of this movie i would love to watch it
toerning Featured By Owner Apr 3, 2011
Thank you- but I'm afraid it's not from a movie. There are a couple of great ones based off selkie mythology, like the Secret of Roan Inish, and Ondine, but this isn't fanart.

If you are so inclined, the secret of roan inish is up on youtube (not great quality, but still!)

This whole series needs to be converted to a 3-D image version; there's already so much depth to them that they would really work!

Beautiful job <3

I think he's just one of those people with a naturally sad face. He always looks so glum, even when she looks kind of happy.

Turn it back into an experiment then. :) Decide not to upload whatever you do on it for a while. Forget about us and go back to playing around with it for yourself.

Heh I've been faithfully watching these Selkie images, despite their ridiculous out of order-ness =P I love them all, each one has been so well done with the scenes emotion and story. Standalone they are enough; so thank you so much for pushing through and making's just a wonderful gift to the art community =)

Hey, I'm a little confused about the positioning of her arm behind her, and it wouldn't bother me at all if I didn't love your art so much! >_< I'm probably just looking at it the wrong way, but it looks kinda bent and awkward and can you pleeeez tell me what kind of pose she's in X:

The only thing I don't like about this is that her other arm seems to be out of place. Other than that I love it

I love how this looks like a diorama! It almost looks like sculpture with the light, focus and textures. More. More!
