Description

I will no longer be selling these bases as I am making new much better versions for this year! This will be updated when those are finished

SNEAK PEAK OF THESE NEW BASES!
SkyWing Base example by Toenailish

so basically I'm just ripping off xTheDragonRebornx because I saw their bases and was like woah you can probably get a lot of money and points and all for those + I've been wanting to draw my interpretation of the tribes for a very long time now so here's a good excuse to do that

Each base is either 100 points, 100 Flight Rising gems, 100,000 Flight Rising treasure, or 1 USD.
All seven would be 500 points, 500 Flight Rising gems, 500,000 Flight Rising treasure, or 5 USD.

Once you have paid I will send you a transparent version and you're free to use it as much as you'd like, but you must tag me in the description, if the site you are using it allows it (for sure deviantart and amino).

If you pay by USD I'll color one dragon for free from whatever base (or bases) you buy.

My DeviantArt, Flight Rising, and Amino usernames are all Toenailish. If you plan to pay via PayPal pm me.

.

Apart from that, here's some headcanons/design notes for the tribes:::

————

IceWings

Things I added/took away: nonee

Colors/patterns: Primarily pale blues, whites, or silvers for camouflage, but as camouflage is less needed now than it was before the time of the Scorching more colors have been appearing, such as pale purples and greens.

Design notes: Narrow, thin heads; long, sharp teeth, as their diet consists almost exclusively of meat; long, narrow horns for intimidation and defense; wiry build, with very sharp scales; soft-scaled underbelly as the substrate of their environment is loose and non-damaging; very sharp and thin claws to better grip ice; normal wings; narrow, whip-thin tails studded with sharp spines at the ends, primarily for defense; dark-colored eyes to lessen the glare from the ice with circular pupils; spikes behind head to protect their necks.

————

MudWings

Things I added/took away: Crocodile heads because they act just like crocodiles but Tui makes them look like hippos what the heck is up with that so here’s some croc guys.

Colors/patterns: Brown to match their environment, however some greener variants have become more common near the rainforest.

Design notes: Flat, crocodile-like head for camouflage when buried in mud or under water; large, sharp teeth as their main defense; small, downwards-curving horns to stay below the mud or water; very bulky, powerful build with much thicker scales than the other tribes for extra defense; hard-scaled underbelly for protection; short, stout claws as they aren’t used in combat nearly as much as their heads; normal wings; very thick tails, second only to SeaWings; vertically-slit pupils with pinholes.

————

NightWings

Things I added/took away: Took away their spines as I feel they’re sort of redundant, spines would just kind of stand out if they’re trying to hide, and I feel it fits the more ‘sleek’ and ‘camouflaged’ dragons they probably should be. I gave them hard-scaled underbellies as well since there’s no reason for them not to have them as they don’t live somewhere with soft substrate (like IceWings and SandWings) so they get tough bellies.

Colors/patterns: Dark blacks unless unhealthy or malnourished, in which case their scales are duller and more gray than black; dark shades of cool colors such as green or purple or blue can be seen, which helps camouflage in some cases, however they aren’t as common as pure black; mirror-like scales (star scales) dot the undersides of their wings and reflect back light, giving the appearance that they’re glowing, even in areas with little light. Small, teardrop-shaped scales along their sides and tails also have this mirror-like property, along with the teardrop scales on some dragons.

Design notes: Normal heads; thick teeth to help eat even the toughest of meat; smaller horns as intimidation is less needed than most other tribes; mostly slender build for agility and aid in camouflage; hard-scaled underbelly for protection; long, thick claws, as apart from fire they are their only defense; slightly larger wings than the other tribes (apart from SkyWings) for extra camouflage and aid in flying to the continent from the island; normal tails; vertically slit pupils.

————

RainWings

Things I added/took away: Larger frills cause honestly the ones Joy drew are too small for anything.

Colors/patterns: Any color on the spectrum, however over time RainWings have gotten increasingly brighter and more vibrant as they need to focus much less on camouflage than they needed to before, and they are now able to reach brighter colors than any other tribes, as well as the ability to individually tint each scale with separate colors.

Design notes: Round, snake-like heads; small teeth apart from two long, foldable fangs at the front of their mouths (I know there’s kind of a subtle debate about whether or not RainWings have foldable fangs but I think they do just cause spitting cobras do and that’s their main inspiration so it just kind of makes sense); small horns, as intimidation isn’t as important for their survival compared to other tribes; slender, agile build to better navigate and camouflage in their environment; hard-scaled underbelly for protection; long, fragile claws, useful for cutting open fruit and hanging onto trees; small wings to better glide and navigate through trees; prehensile tails to grab onto and hang from branches; large eyes with a ring of hard scales around them to protect them from branches, with horizontal, vine snake-like eyes.

————

SandWings

Things I added/took away: Gave them horned-viper spikes above their eyes for more intimidation and extra shade for their eyes.

Colors/patterns: Pale, sandy colors for camouflage, black-scaled patterns being recessive as they don’t really aid them at all and it just make them stand out. Many have dark markings around their eyes to further lessen the glare of the sun.

Design notes: Spiky heads for protection when they’re buried under sand; sharp teeth; long horns for intimidation; normal build; soft-scaled underbelly as the substrate of their environment is loose and non-damaging; sharp claws; normal wings; long tails studded with a sharp, scorpion-like stinger at the end; very dark eyes to lessen the glare from the sun with circular pupils.

————

SeaWings

Things I added/took away: Crests behind heads to aid in hearing.

Colors/patterns: Varying shades of blues and greens for camouflage, however since camouflage isn’t greatly needed as they have no threat in the ocean other colors have shown in some, such as pinks, purples, and even in rare cases some warm colors. Royal glow-marks are a dominant trait and can light up like other glow scales.

Design notes: Sleek heads with glow-marks and barbels; curved teeth to grab fish; small, slender horns to reduce drag while swimming; normal build; hard-scaled underbelly for protection; sharp, fish-hook like claws; very small wings, as they spend far less time flying than the other tribes, and large wings would make them slower swimmers; very large, paddle-like tails for aid in swimming; large, reflective eyes with big, circular pupils that cannot dilate; extra barbels on legs.

————

SkyWings

Things I added/took away: Claws and teeth are longer and sharper as Tui described SkyWings as being very skilled fighters so I thought enhancing them would be fitting; sharp ‘beak’ for biting and tearing meat.

Colors/patterns: SkyWings once were varying shades of browns rather than reds and oranges to match their environment before the Scorching, however after the threat of scavengers disappeared camouflage was not necessary for survival and brighter colors started to appear. While oranges and reds are more common, yellows are beginning to appear as the color range expands.

Design notes: Slender, sharp heads with large nose and cheek spikes for intimidation and a sharp ‘beak’ for biting and tearing meat; long, sharp teeth; very long horns for intimidation; slender build with exceptionally longer necks, tails, and arms for more movement and more agility while flying; hard-scaled underbelly for protection; long, sharp claws; enormous wings; slender tails; circular pupils.
