Zeliszow Church Series: III

Awesome photosession in the former German village Giersdorf (now in Poland, named Zeliszow).

The church was in construction from 1796-1797and was built by Carl Gotthard Langhans (who also built Brandenburg Gate).
It was abandoned after WWII when Germans had to leave the area.

This is amazing. I didn't realize initially that this was a real place...sometimes it's hard to improve on reality!
Who would want to leave behind something this amazing. Albeit, this was probably part and parcel to their culture. Still, i wish we had this kind of thing in the US. There is this warm, fraternal, intimate feeling that I get from the architecture.
Wonderful perspective. I like this shot.
