We're writing to inform you and your family that the Boomerang and Noggin services have shut down on July 2, 2024. Your access to Boomerang, Noggin, and the Disney Bundle Family subscription has been revoked on that date, and you will no longer be able to subscribe or resubscribe to any of these services. You can still find many shows, games, and books from Noggin on Disney+ and shows and movies from Boomerang on Hulu. You can also "cross-stream" them with the Disney Bundle Duo or Trio subscription. Disney to Outsource Physical Media Business to Sony Entertainment Following today’s announcement that the Disney Movie Club will be shutting down, it has now been revealed by TheWrap that Sony Entertainment will be taking over Disney’s home video business via a licensing model. What’s Happening: As part of this new agreement, Sony will market, sell and distribute Disney’s new releases plus catalog titles on physical (including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD) to consumers through retailers and distributors in the U.S. and Canada. Disney will still regularly evaluate the go-to-market approach as the home entertainment business and the industry continue to rapidly evolve alongside consumer behavior. Noggin Set to Shutter As Paramount Lays Off Service's Entire Team A popular destination for Nickelodeon hits, licensed content, and 1,000-plus interactive videos/games, the app will phase out soon, and its programming will shift to Paramount+. Paramount Global is shutting down Nickelodeon's subscription-based Noggin app and has laid off its entire team, Kidscreen is reporting. The SVOD service for two- to seven-year-olds had 2.5 million global subscribers in 2019 (four years after launch) and houses more than 1,000 educational games, videos, and books in its library, some of which will soon be homeless.
