She had lost track of how long she had exactly been on her own outside of Chandor. The fateful day she had decided to leave felt like a lifetime ago. At certain points she almost felt as if she'd never reach her goal of finding Alcatraz. It had been an adventure that's for certain, and she had both learned a lot as well as grown more in her time as a loner this go around.
The early morning found Gabitrix standing uncertainly at the border of this new pack, Aryn. She had heard rumors among some other loners that fit Alcatraz's description but she wasn't sure. A pack? He had seemed so unsure of packs.. though it would make sense as to why she hadn't seen him. Green eyes shift worriedly along the border as Gabi' weighs her options. She was most certainly not
going to just waltz right in, that would be extremely rude. So instead she stands awkwardly, head raised with what bit of confidence she had, and gives a soft calling howl. Gabi' pauses, ears flicking forwards and eyes scanning the Aryn tree-line. Now she supposed all she could do was wait.
Alcatraz was busy patrolling the Aryn border, as he did nearly constantly ever since the pack was founded. He was very protective of his new family and his new home. In fact, he saw very little of them these days because he was out so much. But he was not the only one; the entire pack was hard at work establishing the borders and settling into the new territory.
The sun was just rising over the eastern mountains as Alcatraz made his way through the forest, his ears perked and alert to anything. His yellow eyes were narrowed and he prowled along not unlike a bear’s strong gait, one paw slowly placed in front of the other.
But then a call hit his ears. It was faint, and distant, but he recognized it immediately. Gabitrix!
And then he was running. What was she doing here? How had she found him? He burst through the bushes where he saw his silvery white friend standing there, a ray of morning sunlight dancing off her long, soft fur and shining in her bright green eyes. ”Gabitrix!”
Alcatraz called, bounding right over and nuzzling her fondly before he said another word. He backed up, his pale yellow eyes wide, ”What are you doing here? Are you okay?”
It took less time then she thought for Alcatraz to show and come thundering from the tree-line. Her green eyes lit up and Gabi' rushed forwards to meet him in a feverish nuzzle. "Oh Alcatraz. You have no idea how good it is to see your face."
The pale she-wolf takes a slow step back to look him over, brows arching slightly. "You look good! You look so happy!"
It was true. Alcatraz looked different since joining this pack, he looked happy, he looked healthy and he looked as if he belonged. A soft smile flits across her muzzle and Gabi' nods her head slowly. "Yes, yes, I'm fine,"
she shrugs it off casually.
Gabitrix shifts her weight slightly before sighing and explaining, "You didn't meet me ... I didn't know if you were ok or if you were upset with me for not leaving Chandor .. I couldn't handle it. So... I left,"
she blinks, "I decided that finding what family I had left was more important then a foolish idea that I had found where I belonged. I didn't belong there. I couldn't offer anything to Chandor that made me an asset really.. I was a pupsitter,"
she chuckles. "Finding you.. was more important. And look at you! You're in a pack?!"
she questions bemusedly, that smile curling one side of her mouth.
The dark male’s tail wagged slowly as she complimented him, and he blinked warmly, ”You are a sight for sore eyes yourself, Gabi’.”
Alcatraz said, and it was true. His old friend looked as lovely as ever with her silken white fur streaked with pale cream and gray. He tilted his head as she shrugged his question off, wondering if her casual answer was true. He soon has his answer.
He lowered his ears, his pale gaze dropping as she pointed out that he had not met her and then went on to remark about his new territory. ”I am. Athena, a fellow loner I met out here, called upon me… I thought you were happy in Chandor, and I felt as if I could not convince you to leave, so I left to assist her and my other friend in founding Aryn.”
Alcatraz explained. They had met several times since their initial reunion as he spent time near Chandor, but never had they gotten anywhere… Gabitrix had not wanted to leave. But Alcatraz had to say, he was glad to see her now. ”My pack is called Aryn, and we have a fruitful territory nestled within this valley.”
He paused. She had come to find him, and now she had found him. Now what was her plan? Perhaps she would stay here… with him. ”Aryn is new, and growing… every wolf is an asset here. Perhaps… you would like to stay a while?”
She beams a proud smile in her friends direction, "Alcatraz.. that is amazing news. I'm so happy for you! .. Wow.."
she breaths softly. The pale furred female shifts her weight, her green eyes shifting to the landscape behind him and curiously scanning it's tree-line and what she can see in the distance. Well.. she had found him, and he was part of a pack! Gabi' knew she didn't belong alone, as a loner. She barely could grasp that she had lasted this long on her own. Attention shifts to him and she nods her head slowly once, "Yes.. of course I'll stay awhile. I would love to see your new home and actually get to spend time with you for once! It has been way way way too long,"
Alcatraz’s tail wagged furiously as she accepted. He was surprised at how unexpected her answer was to him. He supposed, after so long of searching for her, and after finding her she had been unwilling to leave her pack, he thought that finally being with her would not be so easy. But now, after all this time, it looked as if they would be together again, united under the same Alpha in the same pack. The dark male nodded, ”Yes it has been… but here we are. After all this time...should you decide to stay… we’ll never need to leave each other again.”
Alcatraz trotted forward, pushing his head affectionately into her fur, letting the gentle white curls of her mane fall over his muzzle. This was too good to be true. It was almost better than their first reunion. Because this time there was the potential that it would never end.
She blinks, green eyes somewhat surprised as he rushes to nuzzle his nose into her fur, but the female chuckles and leans into it gratefully. It had begun to feel like decades that she had been searching for him after she left Chandor and yet here she was, she had actually found him. Again. It was amazing, but something was making sure that these two found each other again and again. She nuzzles him gently against his cheek and smiles, "Oh don't you worry. I don't plan on going anywhere now that I've found you. Someone needs to keep you out of trouble,"
she giggles. She had her best friend back, her family, and Gabi' would do anything possible not to lose him again. "Wait until you hear all my stories!"
