Born in June, 1969, I am a jaded misanthrope with the mind of a scholar, the heart of a warrior, and the body of a poet. As you can see, I don't take anything in life seriously, not even myself.
Favourite Visual Artist
Ashley Wood (3A), Manchu (Philippe Bouchet), Tim White (RIP), Peter Elson (RIP), Chris Foss, Richard Corben, Juan Giménez (RIP), Jean Giraud (RIP), Pepe Moreno and Angus McKie
Favourite Movies
Star Wars ('77) - before Lucas effed it up and put "Episode IV" into the intro scroll and before Lucas spent the next 30 years destroying the franchise through his own lack of imagination and creative ineptitude.
Favourite TV Shows
Ones that are well written and depend on plot rather than CGI or FX to draw an audience - Stuff like "LOST" and "Firefly" - you won't find me watching "Jersey Shore" or "American Idol"
Favourite Bands / Musical Artists
Ambient, trance, heavy metal, alternative, classic, country, sci-fi and fantasy movie soundtracks (OST), basically anything but (c)rap music.

The usual suspects

Tools of the Trade
Whatever I can get my hands on, I'm a hoarder when it comes to spare parts and art supplies
Other Interests
Too many to list, too little time to enjoy them fully. Needless to say I'm never, ever bored.
I love this ship, for some unknown reason, the design has just always stuck with me. The ship was originally called "Nell" as that was the AI that controlled the ship ... a cranky, school-marm type AI that didn't like people and especially didn't like new pilots taking her out for a spin. The ship was stated to be an "old Corsair" and first appeared in Corman's SW-esque homage to "The Magnificent 7" titled "Battle Beyond the Stars". Major names in that show. "Space Raiders" was just a quick script that used a majority of its FX shots taken directly from BBTS, including some of the footage that wound up on the cutting room floor for BBTS. You really have to watch both to get all of BBTS in the FX department. IMHO, BBTS is the better film.
If you're interested, Fantastic Plastic makes a 1/144 resin miniature of this model. I waited a looooong time for this ship to be made into a commercial model. I've seen many people scratch-build this ship but I never had the skills to do that. When you lack the skills but have the cash, there's always a solution somewhere.

Keep up the great work! There's not enough love for "Nell" out there ...
