HOW TO Make Your Computer Sound Like GLaDOS
First, you need GLaDOS's sound files. These can be found here: http://theportalwiki.com/wiki/GLaDOS_voice_lines (naturally, spoilers abound).
This site contains the audio files for every voice line in-game for every character in the Portal series, so if you'd rather someone other than GLaDOS (though why in Aperture would you?!), or want to supplement your new GLaDOS computer system with some other characters too, you can get their voice lines as well.
Next up, you're going to need an idea of what quotes you want to use, and get ready to set them. You'll need to open up your system sounds editor. On my Windows 7, I just right-click while in my desktop, click "Personalize", then when that menu opens up, I just click "Sounds" on the bar beneath all my themes. Alternately, I can just use the search or Control Panel to get to the "Sound" option window, and click the button "Sounds" on the bar on the top. PE: Scanning And Photographing A/M Works
A traditional artist faces a great challenge after finishing an artwork. How do they get it on their computer to upload and show the world?
There are two main options: Scan or Photograph. Both of these come with a horde of challenges and this article is to offer a starting point for the artist to experiment and find the best solution for their art.
There are a number of type of scanners, the most common domestic peripheral being the flat bed scanner. This article focuses on using a flat bed scanner and not a wand or other type of scanner.
First things, the scanning bed must be as clean as possible, clear off dust and pet hairs before attempting to use and make sure the scanner is on a stable surface for scanning. Some scanners will be sensitive to direct sunlight being on the outside, if you find that your artworks get a strange bright spot, do check that section of your scanner isn't being exposed to direct light.
Laptop troubles: screen Saver
Something seems really wrong with my laptop when it comes to my screen saver. I have the time set for 25 minutes but it always seems to try and cut off -the screen saver "activates" at 5-10 minutes? Also it won't come up as the screen saver I assigned it to be. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm not sure what model my laptop is but it is Windows.
Important message about sending money via Paypal
It makes a difference how you send money
Hey guys! I just wanted to give a heads up or reminder on using Paypal.
This is really really important, so if you send money to people via Paypal please read!
This applies mostly if you send money through paypal for things like merchandise/items or commissions online (that is not through a store - in other words typing in their email to send money)
Please keep in mind that if you are buying an item or service, you need to mark it correctly. Please do not send payments for items or commissions as gifts (family and friends). This might seem like a really nice thing to do for the artist -I thought so too when I first started using Paypal-, but in actuality you are risking their account to get flagged, locked, or banned. They might just get a warning first but I'm unsure about how their first reaction is.
This is serious. Please don't do it.
I know there are artists ou
