First attempt at 3D rendering. I am pretty happy with it. Could definitely improve. But hey, could be worse!

I'm curious as to why you stopped pursuing 3d rendering. You have an discerning eye for good dynamic camera angles. With a little honing and a little more technical knowledge, I'm sure you'd be fantastic and on the cusp of fleshing out your greatest fantasies.

I didn't want to stop pursuing 3D. I really enjoyed it, and I may pick it up again later. But it was too demanding for my computer, making it crash and sluggish. I hope I can get some upgrades and get back into the game. But only time will tell.

Thank you for your kind and positive words. It means a lot, coming from someone of your calibre. I'm flattered

Whenever you ever do get the new workstation, feel free to hit me up. I'd love to help you out and share my technical knowledge and experience with you.

How did i miss this? It's great first render. Daz3D can be quite daunting at the beginning, there are so many tools and settings to get your head around, the trick is not to bother yourself with all the complex stuff straight away and just concentrate on the posing and camera angle. Once you get a pose and camera you are happy with you can mess about with lighting, shadows and backgrounds after.

My first scene I think I rendered about 10 times, tweaking it here and there then re-render, tweak, re-render, tweak, re-render....Nobody is great right at the start, you learn by doing and in many cases you'll learn a lot by getting things wrong.

But this shot is cool, my first shot I wouldn't even post, it was that bad.

Saftkeur is right though. I still feel so pleased with myself once I have finished a story or a scene. :)

Oh man. That means a lot coming from someone of your caliber. Yeah, it's not perfect, there's a lot more I could do. But it's a first render. And I enjoy it. I thought I would go for a simple POV shot, and it really worked out. I'm glad you like it. I have no where to go but up.

You are too kind. It's not great by any means. But yes, I do feel a sense of pride. Seeing the final product after all the little articulations I had to make. Feels amazing.

Looks just as good, if not better, than my first renders. Hah. I'll send you a note later with one of those.
Regardless of the result, it's just a very satisfying feeling to take things from empty scene to finished render. And the only place to go from here now is to just keep getting better.

I learned everything I know about 3D rendering on my own, just experimenting and tutorials. I'm sure you'll manage just fine. :la:
