In my critiques I like to break each rating down to provide the most detail so please bear with me through the process <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>

Vision : Your vision was astounding! Such a surreal image in a beautifully still environment was filled with grace, elegance, detail, and composition as you turned this into something original and almost a touch whimsical.

Originality : Although not being the most original (realistic art is well realistic art to me) It has a lot of smaller details in it's originality! For example, I enjoy the way you can only see the chest in focus, that composition is striking and centers the eyes on the photo frame there.

Technique : The way the water is still around her was gorgeous, and very enjoyable, it's still and serene looking like you froze the moment in time, on the smaller note of a critique side, the image seems to be a bit... "stiff" the ripples around her have a soft delicate form but it appear as if she was standing in a liquid that was denser than water, such as pudding, water has a more fluid look to it.

Impact : I was captivated, intriqued, and held even more by your attention to detail and compostion. Bravo!

One can never truly tell a person's vision when it comes to custom adopts, especially when you haven't seen the customers reaction. Though I can see that you made something very sweet and cute for your customer. Secondly, it's quite difficult to rate much originality because you both came up with a design and noodled around how it would be done! Pink is also a very popular color. So I'll focus more on your impact and technique. This design has a lot of cute and simplistic techniques. you kept it sweet and stylized with little ruffles, folds, ribbons and pompoms. Although it does look obviously stylized, it almost seems a bit flat without the ruffles and wrinkles you would normally see in clothing. A tiny touch of more detail in the pleated skirt would give it more depth. The shiding on this adopt gives her a simply cute appeal as well, and it strikes me as being shiny, and clear, without overdone. There's one small thing though for me to consider upon seeing her on a base. The base itself looks well, like a base! the coloring style and your line art are much softer and subtler than the base outline that it causes major contrast. This somewhat takes away from the design as you're drawn to the harsh brown outline compared to the soft little lines around everything else. That's the only tiny detail I feel needs a critique.

I'll start with each major part of the design/techniques:
1 - Hair: her hair flows smoothly and doesn't have a rough pixelated edge, also the shading is nice for your first gif!
2 - Hair Shading: a bit rough and choppy around the highlights (the white parts that look like a headband) It's a bit harsh and softening your gradient pixeling would smooth it out.
2 - Eyes: the colors are sharp and a nice coral color
3 - Eye Shading: a bit flat, she only has a little bit of shading around her eyes.
4 - Blinking: Her animation does seem a bit choppy, first she blinks very slow and then she blinks twice very quickly. If you pictured that on a human you would wonder if they had something in their eyes.
5 - pixel border: because your OC is VERY lightly colored the black border seems a bit harsh around the edges <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/> try a lighter color for a light palette OC

Overall this is great for your first shot! You have all the basics nailed down <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
