Moray Eel Mermaid by Tintengeist Moray Eel Mermaid by Tintengeist
In 2016 I started to work on my inkink skills- before I mostly worked with rather stiff lines and very little line variations, and I really wanted to get better at my most favourite tool. The solution was a flurry of mermaids, all based on real sea creatures instead of just a generic "cute lady with a fishtail".
I kind of want to preserve this images, so here's a reupload.

For some reason this one is my personal favourite of all the fishy ones. Something about the expression and posture feels energetic and cheerful.

This was the first of all those "learn-to-ink" pictures. I'm happy you like it, I'm quite fond of it myself, though you can easily see that half the times, the lines are terribly dodgy.

I don't have the eye for fine art technique and nitty-gritty little details. I just like a picture if it makes me feel happy, and this one does. :)

That's good enough for me. You can't usually see it but when I draw, my hand's wearing a monocle :D
