Depression can be consumimg at times...
negative thoughts invade the mind...
the past snapping at your heels like a hungry beast...
sleepless nights take a toll...
you can be surrounded yet still feel alone...
afraid to say how you feel not wanting to bring others down...
smile at the world...yet inside your broken

So sorry you're suffering through this. Beautifully written, although sad to hear. Your words and images never bring us down though, they're uplifting and let others with similar thoughts and feelings know they're not alone.

Story of my life. I'm on the spectrum and one of my most common characteristics is depression. Sometimes I feel like there's no meaning or purpose for life.

Thank you so much for understanding. :) :hug: Some people act like depression is something you can simply "get over" with the flick of the wrist.

I've been battling it for over 30years so I know too well it's not something to get over, I've learned to live with it :hug:

Depression is a hard topic for many it takes the bravest ones to speak out on the manner. Keep fighting it's worth it you will do great things one day.

A wound is where the light enters, showing you the part inside that needs healing.
Always be kind to yourself, feel whatever it is thats needs feeling.
If no one's around, hug your inner child.
Show yourself some love and do nothing too wild.
If you can not see, get up, switch on the light.
It's never like you think and at the end you'll win the fight.
Call for help, when needed, you never walk alone.
With help you'll lift this burden, that feels heavy like stone.

Start with treating yourself to something delicious. The simple things in life make a huge difference. Be aware of your inner dialog and stop any negative thoughts about yourself. Replace them with something nice, even if you don't believe it yet. Start following your intuition and do more of the things that bring you joy. Don't expect immediate results, healing takes time. But keep at it, even if you're down and don't see the point. Time will bring answers in unexpected ways. *hug back*
