I'm an American cosplayer. I like film, anime, Minecraft, Titanic history, and beer.

Recent cosplays: Roy Mustang (FMA), Steve Harrington (Stranger Things S2), Han Solo (Empire Strikes Back), Best Jeanist (BNHA), Charles Lightoller (Titanic).

Cosplays I'm planning for the near future (2018-2019):

-Steve Rogers, Bucky rescue outfit (Captain America: The First Avenger) - mostly movie accurate, but with a couple personalized items. Roughly 65-70% complete.

-Tommy Shelby (Peaky Blinders) - a combination of his season 1 and 2 looks (season 1 suit and hat, season 2 coat)

-Rick Deckard (Blade Runner)

-Officer K (Blade Runner 2049)

-Ben Wyatt (Parks and Rec)

-Han Solo (Solo: ASWS) - if I like the movie, that is... it'd be going for his look in the posters rather than the movie itself, since I much prefer how the colors look in them

-Jack Dawson (Titanic)

-The Driver (Drive)

-Malcolm Reynolds (Firefly)

-Booker Dewitt (Bioshock Infinite)

-Aldo Raine (Inglourious Basterds)

Balmain-inspired moleskin military coat
Based on a coat I really liked from the H&M x Balmain collaboration collection that was released a few years ago, with a couple changes like the back yoke taking from Matt Smith's green coat in Doctor Who. I made it from moleskin/suede upholstery fabric, so it's not very warm, but it's fairly water resistant so it'll be good for light spring/fall showers.

Belstaff Milford/Sherlock-inspired wool coat
This is my second attempt at making a coat based on the one worn by Benedict Cumberbatch in Sherlock, the first being here. I've always loved the coat and wanted one of my own, but good replicas are incredibly expensive and cheap replicas aren't very good. I was never very happy with my first attempt that I finished last year. I ended up sewing the front pockets on asymmetrically, the long length wasn't very flattering for my figure, I didn't like how the collar and particularly the lapels turned out, and the thick wool made the cuffs, pocket flaps, and half belt too thick and stiff.

I decided to base my new version on a newer model of the Belstaff Milford coat released after the show popularized the coat. I completely upgraded the pattern for my new version, shortening it by a couple inches and radically changing the collar and lapels. I was worried they'd end up looking comically large, and almost shrank them last minute, but I think they look pretty much perfect and I'm very glad I didn't. I used a softer wool with a much bolder herringbone pattern (not accurate to the show, but I prefer herringbone over houndstooth), and I opted out of using red buttonholes (they made it too hard to match the coat with other clothing). I used a more visually interesting black-on-black brocade for the lining, and I used lining fabric for the reverse sides of the pocket flaps, cuffs, and belt. I also made sure to make the pockets as symmetrical as possible.

Overall this is probably my favorite coat I've made yet. I love how it fits and the fabric is just gorgeous.

Considering your username, I take it you've cosplayed as the Doctor from Doctor Who?

Long time ago. Ten was my third or fourth cosplay I ever did and it was absolutely horrible (cheap ass suit from eBay that was way too dark and fit me horribly, oversized thrifted coat, glasses that made my nose look huge... I looked like a kid wearing his dad's clothes), and a year later I cosplayed Eleven and did a somewhat better job. Never got any decent pictures of either of them, though, so I never ended up uploading any.

Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. :(

Do you by any chance have interest in cosplaying sci-fi?

More specifically, from video games?
