Doing Crossovers...you have to realise that NOT everything franchise can work in one because of how greatly they clash..

like having Wander over Yonder and Star Wars in one universe; it just doesn't work. Their tones are too different

True not every crossover works. And a number of crossovers fail because people are just too lazy to make them work. 

You can make two universes mesh if you remove, play with or add certain details. 

On the other hand part of me wants to write a Star Wars, Wander over Yonder crossover just to be a snotty contrarian. I know at the very least I could make some great comedy out of it.

It all depends on the execution, 

That said, I don't think that Star Wars and Wander over are the best examples of incompatible series. 

Dropped into the middle of a random star wars setting far from the main storyline, Wander could be a great way to shatter the usual status quo and shake things up.
