Flying Dirty Costa Rica

Costa Rica 2011 - Flying Dirty Costa Rica

Taken during my trip to Costa Rica from August 5-13, 2011.

This is a flock of egrets that took off while we were watching them... I really love this shot as you can see the mud and dirt coming off as they flew...

I'll start off with saying that I adore this shot!

While it could have been a bit better you did a very good job capturing the birds in the frame, good timing! I was in Italy when you were in Costa Rica and I also took alot of shots of moving birds, none of them looked as good as this one!

I do like the overall composition of this photo, with the puddle, the grass and the branches behind. But the angle bugs me just a bit, the main lines are a bit on the side, I'd turn the camera just a few degrees to the right.
I would also try cropping the part with the two well framed egrets to see how that picture would look...

As for the focus, it is completely fine, but I think a lower aperture value (if possible) Would have made the shot even more awesome, greater focus on them and some fancy bokeh behind!

The colours of the shot are okay too, but a bit dull in my opinion, I'd suggest you mess around a bit more with it, who knows what will come out!

Like I said, My overall impression of the photo is good, but just a few little things here and there and It could have been way more eye-catchy!
