Sometimes I find it hard to name fractals. Usually some title with "mystic", "fractured", or "light" comes to mind. I just don't know if describing it as the title is the best method for naming something. Guess it is something I will need to work on.

I have been playing with Apophysis for a few months now and releasing wallpapers for download on my blog. To render a quality image can take time and doing nine images or more at a time can really bog the old computer down. My last image run, which was around 30 images, took around 32 hours.

I have purchased Bryce 6.1, Daz3D had a March madness sale and I picked it up for a steal. I hope to have something to upload soon. Though, with my work going the way it is I might not have time to learn it as fast as I would like. I have been putting in 50+ hour weeks and things only look to get more busy till about mid summer. Hopefully it won't take that long till my next post here ;)

Till next time...
Sometimes the only time I have to work on anything is late night after the family has all gone to bed, such as tonight. The problem with working with fractals when you are exhausted is you start seeing things in them. I have a few I will be uploading this week that I can see nothing but alien figures in. I know it sounds weird but since working on them in this exhausted state I can't seem to get past the alien figures. Some could be called beings, monsters, humanoids, etc but the point is, once I see the being, I can't continue to work on the fractal as I feel I am killing it, whatever "it" may be. Weired huh =P
After working with Apophysis for the past week or so I think it is a fun little fractal program. My problem with using it though is after quite a bit of time put into some of these fractals, the end result looks unfinished to me. Even if I frame it or whatever. The results of the flames remind me more of effects than images to show off. I will be posting them, the flames I have been building but I am not sure the end results will be as accepted as some of the other fractals I have submitted. Maybe I am wrong but we shall see...
I made 5000 pageviews mark today and it only took (almost) 5 years ;) Thanks to anyone who has viewed anything in that time =P

Well, I have finally found some time to work on some things. I have been playing in Sterling and Apophysis with fractals and will start uploading some work. No news on the Bryce or DAZ 3D Studio front yet but I will get to it. Enjoy the new works, though it may still be a few weeks before I turn out anything I feel is great ;)
Been some time since I have posted anything new here. I have recently acquired Bryce 5.5 and Daz Studio and I am in the process of relearning 3D. Once I get some decent results I will begin uploading some things again. I have also been working on PSP Wallpapers for a couple of weeks though I am trying out an image host that gives reward points for people viewing your images so I do not think I will be uploading any of them here. I might end up uploading all of them on here, if the point thing doesn't work out like I am wanting it to. I have also recently started toying with fractals again. So, hopefully by the end of this month or the first half of August I will start uploading new work. I hate that I have been so inactive, I really enjoyed my time here and hope to return to a more steady use of DA.

Until next time.

Working on it...

Wed Jan 17, 2007, 5:31 PM
Heh, seems I always over schedule my time. I don't have anything to upload this month because I have been busy launching a new website, working, and taking care of family. Funny how time flies when you're not having fun ;)
I do not know when I will have more work to upload, I had hoped to get some things done but as always, art is the last thing on my list. I have done a few chops to enter in a photoshop contest on Woot! and you can see those here.

Well, maybe I will work on some things but that is really unlikely until early Feb. when I plan on work on a game. I will definately upload some of the art work here.

Woot! New Stuff...

Sun Nov 5, 2006, 10:34 PM
Finally got around to working on some shots I took while on vacation last year. Most of the shots I took was family stuff though I have found a few decent landscape and wildlife shots I uploaded earlier. I will upload more as I find the gems among the family shots. I am working on a few different projects including graphics for a game, a website redesign, and a couple of work related and family related projects taking up my time. Sometimes finding personal time to play is a hard thing to do when you are raising kids, paying bills, and trying to keep ahead of the game.

No time for talking about time!

Sun Sep 3, 2006, 10:11 PM
Ever feel like you just do not have enough time anymore? To further the problem, do you ever feel like your time is totally wasted on a daily basis? That is the place I have found myself recently. I feel I need to manage my time better so I have more time for my interests such as creating art. I have o fix for this problem as of yet. I have been thinking of using something like Google Calendar to help me set aside some time for more arty type stuff. I will post how that turns out, if it works. If it doesn't, I probably won't be back for another month...

Trying to write fiction...

Sun Aug 6, 2006, 8:37 PM
Today is the World Wide Web's 15th birthday! Google it

I recently started a new blog for writing fictional stuff. I was going to post my stuff here but truthfully, I do not think I am good enough to publish here. I started the new blog because I can keep it serperate from my normal places online and do not have to be embaraced by the lack of polish, though polish is the entire reason i started the blog. I will post my stuff there for me to read and polish and repost as needed. Once I finish something and have it polished to my likeing I will more than likely submit it here, though I am still not too sure about that, I do not take rejection real well sometimes and the thought of some of the rude comments I have seen on this place directed at me makes me very nervous.

Devious Journal Entry

Mon May 17, 2004, 10:58 AM
blah blah blah . . .

Well, I uploaded a couple of postcards I did. Hope to have more work to upload soon. We are about settled into the new house, so hopefully once things fall into a routine I can make some time to work on some things.

Lots of things to think about, new ideas running around in me brain. I am working on getting some woodworking tools and studio "stuff" so I can begin working on some of the woodworking projects I have ideas for and also get back into painting. Hope it all works out ;)

Oh well, till next time....

Stuff...

Sun Feb 29, 2004, 10:30 AM
Long time no art....

Seems like forever and a day since I have worked on anything and the bad thing is, it will be awhile before I et the time to work on anything. We just got a new house, it is nice and roomy. We are packing everything we own and next weekend we will be moving. The bad thing is, I have no time to do anything other than get ready to move. The good thing is, once we move and get settled in, I have all the room I need for anything I want to do. I will have an office and a shop/studio. Which mean I will be working on more than just digital art. I plan to get back to painting, building artistic styled furniture, and other things, and I may even get back into sculpture. I do not know exactly what I will be into by next month art wise, but I do know I will have plenty of room to do anything I set out to do ;)

I finally got that digital tablet I ordered and truthfully, it sux. I need to invest the money on a Wacom I guess, the cheaper ones always seem to have problems with being exact. Oh well, I shall search around and try to find an affordable wacom I guess.

I run a small art group call The Critiquers Art Group it is a small group dedicated to true critiquing of members works. So far, it is going good, but I am finding we have to limit the group to around 30 people else we have tons of new submitions to critique and no time for art. I will post at a later date on how things are turning out.

I guess that is about all I am putting in this, I am out of time and need to start on packing the next box...

Till Next time...

Well, 2 more weeks and we move. everything around here is about packing. We have only been in this rent house for a year and already we have more crap than anything I have every seen ;) I do not know when I will have time to upload anything new, I think I will be busy for the next month packing, moving, unpacking, and getting settled in. I hate moving :/ but this time will hopefully be the last.
I just found out we got the house we were trying to get =D I am so happy and now I will have an office and shop/studio to do my art and projects in =D The house is 4 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, a huge kitchen, a massive great room, den, dining room, and shop. The house has 2,854 sqare footage and the shop has 554 square footage. I am so happy I am literally dancing for joy in my chair =D
Well, I uploaded 14 new fracts for valentines day, have fun with them. I was surfin a few images and someone suggested a fract be done in a different color to make it more Valentine like. Well, I worked for awhile and finally came out with a heart like image, I then put it through all the filters and color combinations to make it all nice, coft, and romanticfied. Hope they go along with the holiday :)

I finally have word on my digital tablet. After nearly a month it has been shipped, I got an email from fedex so, once it reaches Texas from NY I will start learning to use it ;)

Until next time...
So here is the lowdown. My wife and I decided we are tired of paying rent, pouring our money into someone elses loan so we started looking at houses. Guess what... Buying a house is an incredibly boring process in which you do alot of filling out papers, waiting, worrying, and talking to everyone and their dog. In short, you grin and answer questions while everyone involved digs into the furthest reaches of your financial past.

Now, this might sound boring but actually it is exciting because you are getting a loan for $100K+ to buy your dream home where you will spend the next 30 years of your life paying for, keeping up, and living/enjoying this house. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, this guy is a nut. Well, I am 32 years old and this is the biggest descision I have ever made for myself, nothing can compare to the nerve renching and buterflies you endure during the whole process.

I will report more as I find out more ;)
Seems that graphic tablet I ordered will be awhile in coming. I waited 15 days and nothing, so I email this guy I bought it from, he tells me he never shipped it and is out of them. It will be another week before he gets any and anothr week after that before I get mine. Make me wonder why I try sometimes ;)

On another note, I am working on digitizing some drawings though I really wanted the graphic tablet for coloring them. I will upload some stuff soon I think.
seems DA is giving me fits, I took time to go visit all the uploads everyone I am watching have, made comments, and none of them submitted right.

I apologize to anyone reading this that was hoping to see some comments from me, I have been terribly busy in the real world and everything else has taken a back seat including my art and the internet. I hope to be more active now, so see you all in the funny papers ;)
Ok, I have 15 new fractals for your viewing pleasure, I had nothing in mind while doing them, they are all pretty much random though some of them progress deeper into the same image. I hope you enjoy!
