you seem so good with critiquing other's works, do you have any tips on how to critique?
Thanks! But I learned from ProjectComnent group and they have a lot of useful tips right here in the group
Mostly the idea is to analyze why you like the work / how it makes you feel (for meaningful compliments) and what bothers you in the work (for critique) and also why did this work catch your attention / what makes it stand out (maybe you picked it on ProjectComnent "give&get" because you needed to comment to post your own work - yep, let's be honest that's a common reason too xD - but you still picked this one, and not the ones next to it). And when you figure these things, or some of them, you just try to put them in words to explain to the other person.
What else... Take a while to trace the image with your eyes, not to miss out things that come after your quick first impression (tho what comes as first impression is important as well).
Don't give just critique without pointing out anything good, remember that the person put in effort and meant to convey some beauty, emotion or meaning, and they most likely tried hard and their work means much to them. (Some people aren't like that, but unless there's reason to suspect them, it's better to take them and their work with full seriousness and care for their feelings). Also try to pay attention to chosen style/medium and artist's level when you critique.
Really read the group, it's full of great advice and encouragement for commenting they'll tell a lot more
